Wait, I Can Explain My Low Numbers, I Promise!
I think we should have a thread that the guys who dyno'ed and didn't do as well as they wanted to can have a chance to explain!
I'll start!
Well Saturday was disappointing dyno wise with my VR-4 (243WHP). I cutting out at high RPM and barely building boost. Shane said he I was running extremely rich and I might have a boost leak.
The next day, on Sunday, I can happily say I found the boost leaks and fixed the issues.
1. Boost leak at intercooler piping clamp. Clamp had loosened off.
2. O2 sensor was faulty/defective, misreading and causing the car to run extremely rich. I replaced the O2 sensor along with the clamp, and reset the ECU. The car runs great now, builds full boost, and doesn't sputter/break up.
So what are your excuses?

heyy can i get your address again so i can get your wheel back
alright so i made 135whp because i had a huge boost leak. I found that my bov was crushed badly and it leaks out constantly. I can stick my hand over the opening of the bov and my car idles down like 500 rpm's. so i gotta find a new bov and it should be fixed.

Messed up tune from APR.
My numbers were pretty much on for what they should be, ~200WHP and 240TQ but my AFR's are not good, and nor is my bouncy powerband after 5k. Ugh

T-25 w/ a 6 bolt head at 12 psi. You do the math.

My car has gremlins, and I don't have time to chase them.

Re: Wait, I Can Explain My Low Numbers, I Promise!
I only made 341awhp I was running a point too lean (fixed a boost least and a turbo problem from my last tune). Followed shane's advice and raised all my fuel sliders 7% on link. Seems to be happier. And I have noo idea what my smoking issue is, it doesn't do it on the road. At least it looks fast and furious.

340whp is good power man, what turbo are you running again?
Just as a reminder, THIS THREAD is part of the reason dyno days exist! People need to get tuning into their modding plans from the beginning, think of how much you learned in like 10 minutes with your car! Little stuff that will help you keep it and you happy and healthy!

Re: Wait, I Can Explain My Low Numbers, I Promise!
My car is just ghey, and I'm pretty sure the TMIC heat soaked pretty badly sitting there before it got on the dyno. Also doesn't help that it's an automatic and when it's run on the dyno in 3rd gear, it has to be above 60mph to not downshift into 2nd. When we tuned the car, we had to taper boost to like 12psi by redline because there wasn't enough injector left. (stock WRX injectors are weak shit) So, with the car being at like 3800rpm at the start of the pull, being in 3rd gear, and injector limited, I seen 18 psi (max is 19psi on the street) for just a split second before the boost tapered to like 12 psi for the rest of the run.
That being said, I seen a gain of 3 WHP and 21 WTQ from $200 worth of mods (Ebay downpipe, used Grimmspeed EBCS) with the most recent dyno runs being about 30* warmer than the baseline.

Yeah 340 on that dyno in AWD is no joke.
I'm about to start taking some stuff apart to try and figure out why my numbers were lower than expected also.

Re: Wait, I Can Explain My Low Numbers, I Promise!
Cameron's is AWD. 340awhp is not bad at all for a 20G on my dyno, the boost isn't maxed out on it yet either.

Oh, well even better then. 340 is very solid for DB's for AWD.

Here is what I was talking about with my boost and RPM's:
On the street it will hold at 18ish for at least a couple thousand RPM's, where here, it just instantly died off. Maybe I should try a 2nd gear pull some time, just to see what the boost does without so much load on the car.
