My car on the dyno at DB

Well here's my car on the dyno from the dyno day. My car was smoking alot and I couldn't figure it out til the day of the actually cookout. One of the lines to my catch can was f'ing kinked! Also my a/f was 15.5! So I'm gonna have to work on that. Haha. The wierd thing is, is that I still have NO KNOCK. Anyway they didn't want me to do a pull so I told them to just do half a pull. Here's the vid!

Have you ever seen any knock? Just to be sure it works?

Even with no knock, it might make more power with it richer. And then add in more timing for more power.

Hell, maybe kinked catch can line was screwing something up in the A/F reading with all that smoke. It probably wasn't helping the power with all that pressure backing up in the crankcase.

Re: My car on the dyno at DB

Yeah I have seen knock. What I did was do some 3rd gear pulls and keep taking out fuel with the afc til I got knock. Then I backed it up about 2%. I bet all that smoke might have had alot to do with it since I've been running my car like that for the last 3 months. I have done VERY MANY wot pulls with it like this too. You would think my engine would be toast if I was running that lean anyway. Also my timing is 19 degree's advanced.

You guys should let me come back and finish my last 2 pulls smoke free!

Nice, those numbers look a little low compared to 2gtsi, the 2g awd with a similar setup

Oil burning in the exhaust will make a wide band O2 read leaner then it is, also if you have exhaust leaks before the wide band O2 sensor that can read lean also.

Good power, but how do you know its not knocking? What are you using for tuning/logging, link?

Check your car over and over and over before going to the dyno, not sure how many times I gotta tell people!

Re: My car on the dyno at DB

I thought I put it in that section but I guess not. Anyway to tune I'm using a keydiver chip with a safc to fine tune. To log I'm using my logger and my stock boost gauge also tells me if I'm knocking cause I switched it over with the chip. Also the numbers are low cause he only took it to 5500 rpm's. I'm gonna set up another dyno session and just have them tune it for me.

Agreed. Double check everything and get a clean smoke free pull outta it.

Re: My car on the dyno at DB

Like I said it was only taken to 5500 rpm's. I just called DB and they want 350 to tune it, so I think I'm either gonna look for a wideband or just leave the car how it is since I'm going off to school soon anyway.

Re: My car on the dyno at DB

I think a wideband is a great investment for everyone personally.

350 to have a known good tune seems like a good deal. Especially if you are really running 15:1 AFR right now. It'll cost a lot more then 350 to rebuild that motor if it goes out.

Nice numbers Andy. I think I was missing your numbers on my Dyno board. I'll add them to the list.
