A little background, I have been a machinist for 9 years making anything from tractor parts to heart pumps. I do my work at the machine shop after hours, so it is top notch. I guarantee all of my work 100%.
Porting:
Turbo- Fix boost creep $35
Turbo- Full port $50
Exhaust manifold $60
O2 housing $50
Turbo, manifold and O2 for $140
Stage I head porting with valves out $80
I can also do custom machining, we have a lathe and mill with digital readout. I also have access to a 220v MIG welder and a plasma cutter. My shop charge is $18-$25/hr depending on the job (includes everything but metal). I can do anything from taking out broken bolts to doing one off custom machining.

I was wondering how long it would take this forum to be used. You should talk to awd1dr if you haven't already.

Do you have any examples of any "high end" machining that you've done on a mill that you could maybe post some pictures of?

That would be no problem. Shoot me a PM and we can work out the details.

Sorry Steve, didn't see that post. We don't have a CNC at the moment, so that won't be possible.
I am looking into boring out stock throttle bodies to 64mm+. I don't know how big I can go. 66mm would be ideal for 2.5" IC piping. I will do a mock up in Solidworks and have it do all of the calculations for me. I hope to get to this some time in Dec.

Here is a pic of some porting I did for a member. It looks much better in person, but you get the idea. Sorry for the size!!

What kind of time-frame are we looking at if I bring you a 20G? It is already partially ported so it just needs to basically be hogged out.

on the right side you bored it out so much that the flange crack shows? is that sealed form the outside or....

If you have looked at the inside of a mitsu turbo you will know that there is a step inside the inlet. That is just the remnants of the step. It is still over 3/8" thick there, so it is nowhere near coming out the side of the turbo.
Chris- If we set everything up I could have it done the same day. It would be the next evening at the latest.

I have an update with some more work that I have done. This is going on one of our members' car. It is a new aluminum intake manifold flange that I made. The rest of the manifold is being made by QPR.

Jet,
Can you do Tubular Exhuast manifolds?
I have an Archer SS that needs to be fixed. Raptor mentioned that the reason it cracks is because they used 2 different kinds of metal material and tried to weld them together? So basically what I would need would be a Head to manifold flange made and welded to the normal ss manifold tubes. Along with a flange to turbo.

The really big thing with the Archer ones was that the tubes are thin and they did not stress relieve them. Stress relief is a HUGE thing, especially on something like that. As far as I know, none of the mass manufacturers do that (SFP included). There probably is not a lot of hope for the Archer.

How much would this cost?
My stock throttle body is 52mm that necks to 48mm and the plate is 52mm. A lot of the neon guys have said that you can get the stock throttle body to 55mm with proper machining and a throttle plate. How much do you think it would cost to get it all bored to 55mm and a throttle plate that is 55mm diameter to fit in perfectly? Any possible amount? 25bux or so?

Archer has devised a way to fix their cracking manifolds. I have seen a few of the reworked ones and they add a nice brace. Brian, contact Jeremy at Archer and tell him your situation, he should be able to work something out with you.

It would probably cost at least $25 just for me to have the throttle plate made. It must be laser cut or water jetted. RRE charges $250. I want to look into it and see if I could do it for $150.

JET ported my 14b and it just ROCKS. 14b with a 3'' turbo back exhaust (with 3" O2 housing) and 0 creep. It used to creep to 23 psi by 4500 rpm. Stock flapper just a kick ass port job.
If you want it done right the first time give it to JET.
Thanks again
Joe
