Re: off topic, who snowboards?
I usually go once or twice a year. This year I've been recruited to teach Allan and Jana. We'll see how that goes. I'm going to teach my Girlfriend too. Oh, and my cousins are coming up for christmas this year and they want to try snow boarding too. So, I guess I will be going a lot this year.
I just have a cheap setup I picked up from an old roomate a couple years ago. I got new bindings last year, but I want to get a new board and boots too.

That was fun, did we hit anything besides Buck Hill? You were using a SIMS Raider 03, 155cm board. We should do that again this year. I get to teach my girlfriend this year... that should be interesting.
I've been doing it for 6 years now, had that SIMS board until last year when I got a Rossignol travis rice board, 159cm and much faster. However, I should have held out until this year and bought the Libtec travis rice board, The House now carries Libtec.
Went to crested butte my first year, and been going to Targhee every year since then, including this coming new years. For me it's a toss up between freeride and freestyle. I really like the out of control fast downhill stuff with lots of powder, but at the end of the run I like to get a few jumps in at the park. Nothing like a half pipe or crazy rails, just basic stuff so far.

Re: off topic, who snowboards?
I've been boarding since 1991. I used to get a season pass at Spirit Mountain every year. I've gone once or twice the last few years, time is short and it's not too good for us with low back problems. I miss it though, Hot 100 Schnapps on the chairlift to keep warm was lots of fun back in the day. Bloody Mary's at 9am in the SM bar was a lot of fun as well, the best ones out there.

I'll be at Welch Village a lot this year ($100 season pass for college students). I'll also be heading to Colorado to board over Christmas break.

I used to have a Black Snow snowboard, it was awesome, it was the black plastic one.

Re: off topic, who snowboards?
I've been boarding for like 5 years now and I absolutely love it. Lutsen is nice, hyland sucks balls imo, and afton is sweet. I usually stick to colorado or montana when it comes to really snowboarding.
I just got a new setup last year:
nitro mark frank montoya sig board
32 lashed boots
burton cartel bindings
i figured since everybody is a pic whore I might as well please the crowd

Re: off topic, who snowboards?
I've been to Lake Tahoe twice and try to hit the slopes around here a few times a year. No parks for me, I just carve and leave trenches behind me.

Re: off topic, who snowboards?
I've been boarding for probably 5 or 6 years now years now, but it's been quite a while since I've gone. I ride an old Lamar Hexan 159, and 2 years ago I got some K2 Cinch bindings. They're the best bindings I've used so far!

Re: off topic, who snowboards?
I've been snowboarding for about 6 years now.
I have a pass to Welch (College pass, $100 baby!) And I usually make a trip out to Colorado, Idaho, or Utah every year.
But right now I ride a Rome Anthem with Flow bindings. I love my current setup and would suggest Rome boards to everyoneone. Only problem is the Flow bindings are really heavy, so I think I'm going to get some Flux or Rome bindings soon.

Re: off topic, who snowboards?
I've been skiing since about 1987. I spent some good time riding goofy on a snowboard, but now-a-days I've been sticking to a pair of skis. I've gone out west every year for the past about 13 years, except one hunting for deep powder. Last year was no different:
see if you can find scheides!
My buddy grabbing some air:

(tough to tell, but he's a solid 10' in the air right there)
Another of the same kid....he's 15
