What would you do?
Well my roomate has offered my $12000 for my 2g gsx. Now I was hesitent to post this because I have a feeling everybody will think the same thing...sell. But it's actually kinda hard for my to do considering this is my first dsm and I have put countless hours and lots of money into it to get it where it is today.
This is what the car looked like when I bought it

And this is where it is now
Now I should include that my roomate doesn't have a ton of knowledge about dsms or cars for that matter. He had a modded talon before and loved it, and has wanted a dsm since then. I am afraid of selling the car to him and then having something happen to it. Also, I would like to include that I have had little to no problems with my car mechanically and I have taken the time to do everything right. With that said, I feel like a good history with a dsm adds a lot to the value.
So what would you do?

I'd say keep it and help your roomy find another dsm.

Re: What would you do?
How extensive is your mods list?
If not so much, then let it go.
Only problem is if you want another dsm AWD, it maybe hard to find a good one / none if not minimal rust.

Re: What would you do?
It's a good price for the car. If you have ever considered selling it, now is the time. On the other hand if you want to keep it by all means do so.

Re: What would you do?
Depends on how much its worth to you. Honestly that is a LOT of money for a 2G, even if you have a lot of $$ into it. I'd consider the offer and put the $$ towards an Evo :P

Re: What would you do?
If your gonna use the money to get another dsm, just keep it. Otherwise, if you want anything else, dump it now, cause 12 is a damn good price for you

Re: What would you do?
I'd sell and put it towards something new! That's a wicked price man! Otherwise if you're just gonna get another one, don't, or like Scheides said, put it towards an Evo!

Re: What would you do?
Thats a good price, and you'll probably never be offered that much again for it. If you plan on staying in DSM's though, it would probably cost you more to find a decent one, fix all the problems, and mod it. It just all depends on whether or not you want to stay in DSM's.

Re: What would you do?
Yea if I sold this I think I might be tempted to buy another. I'd LOVE to put the money into an evo, but I wouldn't have much more cash than what I get for the car. If I could get an evo for $12000 there would be no question in my mind about selling it or not. But yea my 2g is pretty minimal when it comes to rust, and I've made sure to fix every little thing that needed fixing.

Re: What would you do?
Every really nice car I had that I sold I regretted or miss it greatly, unless it needed more work then I could have reasonably fixed. I miss my 442! Especially in the fall.
Unless you are getting out of the modified car game it would be tough to replace. And you WILL end up back in the game. It gets in your blood. Unless you can pull off an upgrade I would say keep it. A reliable DSM is priceless LOL.

Re: What would you do?
If you want to get out of DSM's, then do it. If you don't want to, then definitely keep it. That is a very good price, but you won't be able to make another one for that much money either.

Re: What would you do?
Broken record. If you want to keep in DSMs keep the car. It's hard to find ones in good shape. I still wish I held onto my old 95 GSX. What I'd give to have that car back in the same shape I sold it in.
Search around for cars in your price range you'd like to get. If you find one you would love to have over the DSM then sell.

Re: What would you do?
Keep it. It's a nice 2gb that has all the right shit done to it, the right way.
Help him find a 1g Laser or something that he can beat on and learn with.

Re: What would you do?
Yea maybe I'll just help him find a diff gsx and mod it with him so he can learn. But shit if anybody has an evo they wanna sell me for $12000 that'd be an easy switch haha

Re: What would you do?
You could start looking for a heavily modded GSX for a desend price. Then bank the extra money.

Re: What would you do?
I was just going to add, if you are afraid that it is going to be smashed, don't sell. Its a sign that you aren't ready to part with it. If you don't care what the other guy does to it, then thats when you sell.
