Check Engine Light Code P1103

So I put on GReddy style UICP and a GReddy Type S bov and I was boosting the stock psi on my 97 gst. The car is pulling really good but every time I floor it I hit fuel cut? After hitting fuel cut a few time my check engine light came on. My brother hooked up a scan tool and it gave me the code of P1103 and this is the print out I got from alldatapro.com (I have an account). Can you guys give me some feedback on what I should be replacing? From what i hear I should be able to boost 16psi on my t25 with the following mods on my 97 GsT (injen intake, apexi n1 catback, ported exhaust manifold, UICP, GReddy BOV). I put on a MBC and lowered the boost to 10psi so now I don't hit fuel cut but sometimes it spikes to 12psi. I really want to get this fixed before August 11th *track day*. Thanks for any imput. :thumb:

Did you have the MBC hooked up right? From the sound of it the car is seeing too much boost and thinks that the wastegate is messed up. Id have to say its the MBC.

It started happening before I hooked up the MBC. So My friend gave me a MBC to put on the car so I could lower the boost

You cant lower the boost. The wastegate can only go down as far as what its set at stock. Example: if you have a 15psi spring in an external WG you cant set it below 15psi.
I think I had this same code once and one of the lines going to the WG was crimped.

I didn't know that. I was going off what my autometer cobalt boost gauge reads

Re: Check Engine Light Code P1103

It throws that code when you hit fuel cut too many times. Either you are boost way too high or you have boost and the ECU is seeing more airflow at the MAS than is actually making it's way to the intake manifold.

Re: Check Engine Light Code P1103

P1103 is the wastegate actuator. THat is probably becuase you unplugged the boost control solenoid when you installed the MBC. Plug your BCS and clear the code.

Your fuel cut can be many things. But i've rarely had fuel cut with even a modified BCS. I would check your UICP for tears at the couplings and proper install. Also, check the BOV for leakage, maybe tighten the spring in it. Since you started having your issues with the UICP and BOV install....that is where you should look for your problem.

just type in p1103 in to the a2z search function and you should be able to find a diag. flow chart
