Coil on plug setup?

I was trying to find some information on this type of ignition system but, only got a general idea of what it does. I am wondering what are the full advantages of running individual coils on plugs.

Re: Coil on plug setup?

Advantage: It looks cool.

Disadvantage: Sometimes problematic. Sometimes worse than the stock ignition system.

Re: Coil on plug setup?

Honestly, it's not needed. Atleast from my experiences on STOCK cars that the coil-on-plugs came with, they get interference a lot, and the coils burn up faster. I just don't like them. I run the stock coils, and 8-10mm wires with 8es's. Takes care of any issues I have!
