BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
Apparently my car is still street legal So we're going to head out tomorrow night for our one run lol.
Sound like Josh and LSE are heading up there too, should be a good time...

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
What is the limiting factor for 1 or 2 runs for you guys? I know swanny has a cage but I am not sure about carey. What else woudl be the limiting factor? too high of a trap speed?

Damn, I wanted to go as well, but we're heading up there for a relaxing weekend on Friday. I should probably fix this damn fuel pump as well.

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
Limiting factor is time, anything faster than 11.5 and I'm done...And I did that last year with a blown head gasket, low compression, stock intake manifold, unported head, and standard size valves while spinning the hell out of my 18" low-pro tires

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
What else do you need to run under 11.5?

Cage( 8 point min.), Fire suit, gloves, Shoes, Battery switch for on off. I think I'm missing one or two things.

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
I didn't know you needed an 8pt cage for less than 11.5. Why woudl people get 6 point ones for between 11.99 and 11.5 then?

Driveshaft loop, Scatter shield, Window net (with 10pt), Seats must be mounted to roll cage, 5pt harness.
I believe that is it. Rockfalls doesnt check any of that for shit. If you run faster than a 11.0 they look to make sure you're wearing the fire suit but thats about it.
Shit, my fuel cell doesnt have a firewall around it to separate the cell from the driver, they didnt say shit about that. I have the battery in the back with no kill switch, didnt say anything about that either. They didnt check to make sure the seats were bolted in, they didnt check my helmet, didnt check seat belts, didnt ask for anything but my name and signature on the tech card.

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
A 5-point cage was required from 11.49 - 10.0, unless they changed the rules this year. 5-point seat belt harness. A cut-off switch was needed at 9.99 or quicker(if at all), unless you relocated the battery to the rear, then you needed it no matter how slow your car was. Scattershield was needed at 11.99 or 11.49. Driveshaft loops at something like 12.99. Firejacket if you didn't have a stock turbo or something.
Pretty much if you had a 5-point cage, seat belt harness, helmet and fire jacket, you were good down to 10.0.

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
I don't have my nhra license for over 135 traps.
I have a certified 10 point, window net, fire suit, battery relocation, safety shields, loops, sfi approved stuff, neck brace, gloves, helmet.
Just don't have my license tests done, I do have my physical done, maybe they will let me slide...however the tech guy didn't like my power levels BEFORE.

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
Hopefully they will even let you run at all, you never know, they may just look at it and say, have fun in the stands.

Re: BIR Street Drags Tomorrow Night
You gotta tell the tech guys that you are hoping to break into the low 12s, that's what I always said.
