2nd gauge, what do u think it should be?

I would like input from those that have aftermarket gauges other than an aftermarket boost gauge in their car. I have a 2 pod setup, and i already have a boost gauge.
My question to you all is, what do u think the second one should be and why?
What ones do u have, why do think it is useful?
I have researched this but I am still unsure.
The only other gauge i thought could be useful/used daily would be a EGT, cause from my little experience with one, say when i was doing a 3rd gear pull with someone, i would downshift and stay steady waiting for them to downshift, and the EGTs would rise even though i was holding a constant RPM & MPH. (This could be from tuning, right? (or lack of))

Thx
Aaron

I'd say get the EGT gauge also. I went with the A/F gauge and it's been useless to me for the past 2 yrs . I was a newb when I bought it .

EGT, Oil Pressure, or temp. The stock gauges are not that accurate and the levels have to fluctuate a lot for the gauge to move. This especially applies to the temp. EGT would be my first choice though after a boost gauge.

Or you could be a real baller and put a clock in it.

oil pressure over an EGT gauge, unless its a diesel tow rig, then I would install both.

Re: 2nd gauge, what do u think it should be?

Sell your dual pod and get a triple pod. Then put a boost gauge, wideband and oil pressure. Do it right the first time.

-p.s. do some research about what kind of gauges you want. Don't just get cheap ones, they WILL go bad.

Oil pressure or wideband.
EGT's are awesome to see in airplanes and diesel trucks.

Altimeter, or possibly a compass, but only if they don't have the analog clock option.

Seriously though, a wideband would be really badass, and would be worth saving up for.

Re: 2nd gauge, what do u think it should be?

Voltmeter, actually, because i know they are usually pretty inaccurate. I wouldn't mess around with cheap stock gauges or expensive ones that aren't necessary like boost, oil pressure or egt. I think those guys were actually joking. Voltmeter all the way.

EGT will only realy be effective if you have 4 on each runner. I say oil pressure.

I am guessing you meant to say one for each runner

I am debating this too, probably will be oil or coolant temp.

Re: 2nd gauge, what do u think it should be?

I would say oil pressure, that's probably the next gauge I'm getting. EGT is nice for a general idea of what's going on but oil pressure is really important and doesn't get more straight forward than that. If you're saving... wideband...

Re: 2nd gauge, what do u think it should be?

again, i think differently then i type. Can someone please invent a damn machine that puts my thoughts into words?

coolant temp is another gauge that I run (besides boost, and oil pressure).

One day, when I become perhaps a bit faster, I may decide then to swap out the stock gauge cluster for aftermarket gauges like fuel pressure, rpm, speedo, fuel level, oil temp, and whatnot. hell, I MIGHT even run the A/F gauge for the ladies (seems to be the only one they like). But, for now, it's just boost, oil press, and water temp. This is because the stock ones don't work.

Re: 2nd gauge, what do u think it should be?

My vote is for oil pressure or wide band. I dont think you can have too many guages, a triple pod pillar might not be a bad idea.

I have an Oil Pressure guage and boost guage in my duel pod, always nice to make sure you are getting oil pressure.
