RWD Talon conversion

Hey, just cruising around looking for more specs on 1g DSMs, and look what i found. http://www.eagletalon.net/ dunno if you guys seen this, but it looked pretty interesting. the guy made his 1g rwd conversion and a longitudinal 4g63 mounted...pretty interesting find. i know he isnt the only one, but this looks pretty decent.

Re: RWD Talon conversion

or you could modify the front axles so they have a bearing on them that allows them to spin freely but put no power to the front wheels

Re: RWD Talon conversion

When (if) I finish my current Talon, I was thinking of getting another for a RWD drift project. I dont think its too hard, obviously you'd need to make new motor/tranny mounts, but I think you use a AWD car, leave the rear end, get a mighty max tranny and driveshaft and you're set.

Re: RWD Talon conversion

It's two NABR members building it up as a race car. It should go real good once it's done. It was out at the SO two years ago on a trailer.

Did it run? How'd it do? Or did they bring it just to show off?

Thats a great idea for doing RWD the wrong way. You should slap an unpainted body kit on the car while you're doing the RWD "conversion."

Yea I don't think modifying your axels is the best of ideas, even if there isn't going to be any power going to them.

Re: RWD Talon conversion

They just trailered the body and frame down to show. They now have most of it put together, there's a buttload of one-off fab work on that car. It's going to be sweet when it's done.
