Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Finally got around to installing my prothane motor mount for the front. Reason I haven't done it, is cause it's for an AWD so it mounts differently and same for the rear mount.

Here is what I did. I'll let the pics do the talking.

I did the same thing with the rear. I also put my stock mounts back in on the sides. My car shakes so horribly I couldn't stand it anymore. Front and rear is all you really need so I'm hoping the car doesnt rattle my teeth anymore!

I got my L19's in the mail today too!

Ummmm.....I was able to change mine out from fwd to awd in my garage. A little over-kill? lol

If it works, it's all the same. Just hope the welds don't break under all that powah.

Not sure how you were able to mount them. You can see the mounting points are completely different. The rear mount was also a lot taller or shorter. Cant remember which..

No, the insert. I was able to change the insert from the fwd metal mounts to the awd metal mounts. I had to use a saw to get the old rubber insert out, but the poly inserts should go in by hand.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Ohh I see. I didnt want to deal with any of that BS so I just cut and welded haha. My rear mount has been in the car like that for the past year and it's fine.

Ordered a timing belt and BS eliminator kit from partsdinosaur this morning. Also an intake heat barrier gasket and front case gasket from MAP.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Yeah I've heard nothing but good feedback about that site.

I've been rolling around with a black bumper on my car cause the old one no longer works with the new front mount. Finally had some time to paint it today since it was so nice out. I used a can of spray paint mixed for my color code from carquest once again. It turned out really well.

Here are some crappy cell phone pics.

Hopefully that bumper will match good. Paint looks good though!

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

I put it up close to the car and it looks pretty close. Same paint I used on the firewall. Either way it's better then a black/grey bumper!

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Put the bumper on today. It's not as shiny as the original paint but it still looks nice. I think it needs a clear coat but the guy at Carquest said I can't use a clear on it? I also finished running the rest of the harness inside the car and put all the panels back together, waxed the rest of the engine bay to match the shiny firewall and a few other little things.

Pics of bumper. (I know it's crooked in the pic but I did straighten it out)

My timing belt and BS elimator showed up today which is amazing since I ordered it Friday. I also got an aluminum radiator on the way now.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

^^Thanks!

Time for another cell phone pic update.

I prepped my block surface and installed the L19 headstuds. I then started taking everything apart for the balance shaft eliminator kit. All I need to do is pick up my gaskets from MAP and the balance shafts will be done.

My car has never been so apart all at one time. I feel like I have a LONG ways to go before it gets back together. Hopefully I don't run into too many problems and everything goes back together nicely.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Picked up most of the gaskets I need so I can start putting the front case back on. Got some supertech valve stem seals and dropped them off at Primo. I have the day off tomorrow so I'll probably get the BS elimation done and maybe start the wiring for my fans.

You're gonna do the BS elim in the car? Sounds like a pain in the ass.

I think you should clear that bumper.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Yes I'm doing it in the car. I already have it done just need to put it all back together. It's not fun at all sitting in the wheel well for hours at a time..

I don't know what I'm gonna do with the bumper yet. I think it needs a clear too.

Re: 4g63tcrazy's new setup for 2010

Little update.

I got the BS elimation completely done. The car is just sitting there waiting for a head to be put back on it. Hopefully that will be done Tuesday..

In the back of my mind I have been pondering the idea of getting new rims. New rims as in a nice set of 16" wheels so I can put some meaty tires on and have more traction then my 18's. I looked on craigslist for a couple months and never saw anything good. Then it hit me.. What about FD RX7 wheels? Light, 16's, wide. PERFECT.

So I searched the classifieds and Lor (turboimports) actually had a set for sale! So I scooped those up from him today.

The plan is to repaint them. But still keep them black. Then put on some 235/55r16's - 245/50r16's not quite sure yet. And more than likely some 10mm spacers.
