Holy sandy vaginas. What is with all these newbs actin like they own the place?

Hey newbie what did you spend $5000 on? All I saw was a less than $1000 turbo setup and e85. Please fill me in.

And yes, you can't go around wavin your dick around to the awd guys imo. Why didn't you dyno awd anyways?

Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!

I have a 1g and have a lot more the 5k into it. From the newb comments, I would guess he doesn't approve. Maybe a friendly run would show where the money went. :P

And to be honest, nobody with real HP even dyno'd that day. It's funny when a bunch of new guys believe their shit doesn't stink. Stick around a while and take a look around at what others here have, then talk shit.

I meant no disrespect saying 4-5 grand or more is quite a bit in a car that old. Its just 1G vs 2G. 1G's are easier to find (for me anyways) and since they're older they're a lot cheaper to buy. In my opinion, it would be excessive to have 5 grand in a 1G and not get over 300AWHP. I realize many people put money into paintjobs and other parts that are for the looks not just power, and I see nothing wrong with that.

I do think, however, a 1G is a nicer and better built car than a 2G, so it's maybe not that bad to put money in a 1G.

Why does it seem like almost thread that gets long ends up with people arguing. It would be awesome for everyone to TRY to get along. I like good information better than arguing, bashing, and fighting.

Good day to you all

Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!

5k is nothing to put into a car built engine and good turbo setup is going to cost more than that.

jrohner-
I really appreciate the concerning pm. And instead of dick/punk/kid you can just call me Brian.

btw, just to clear anything up, jrohner spend $5000 including the purchase price of the car.

Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!

It would be interesting to find out how much drivetrain loss there really is between awd and fwd dsm's, 1g's and 2's. I think there'd be a lot of suprises.

BTW: Who the hell cares how much money is into a car?

Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!

Is there a plan for a fall dyno day? I'd love to go there and do a dyno with awd. My cousin was saying i should get mine awd again for this dyno day, but I didn't really wanna mess with it at the time -- kinda wanted to relax some before the dyno day -- plus I didn't want to potentially have a bunch of trouble and miss it. It was such a fun day. I was really hoping to see some powerful cars -- like 700+ HP or so.

The reason I wasn't AWD is because I think the tranny I put in my car must've had a locked viscous or something and 95-96 front differential gearing. Meaning my car was boiling the rearend grease out of it! I kinda got ripped on a tranny off ebay i guess. I would just make mine RWD and leave it that way probably but for some reason mine doesn't have an LSD rear -- that sucks.

---------------------------

Mr.98GSX - well I appreciate you calling me jrohner (jeff or rohner is alright too) instead this time instead of newb dick waiver. I had no intention of coming off like -- my car is so much cheaper than yours yet so much better too. A couple people said my car was impressive for what it is and I'm like yeah I'm happy with it.

I wasn't trying be any part of starting an argument, sorry if it seemed like it. Sometimes it is hard to know HOW a person is saying something when you just see the words and don't hear how they are being said, that's probably why there are so many arguments in forums.

We should all get back to talking about the fun day or helpful/interesting info instead of wasting forum space arguing. A fun day should be fun to talk about afterwards.

later

Sweet. At DB? That's a nice place. I also like that it's in Rogers so I don't have to drive way into the cities and get lost going the wrong way on some one way street or something (I'm actually not bad at directions, I just don't like driving in the cities - don't like driving in St Cloud much either).

I should be getting it back to AWD sometime in the next week or so. Then I can actually accelerate again instead of just burning the tires in the first 3 gears, well 2 since I almost never put it in 1st gear.

Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!

i bet drive train loss is somewhere around 15-18%. At least that would be the case with the EVO, and im sure the early dsm's are different but you can expect about that much.

According to what the stockish EVO's dynoed at, loss must be over 20% or closer to 25%. That doesn't sound unreasonable does it? Maybe on a dynojet you could figure 15%?

Was the dyno in 'shootout mode'? I heard that might make it read a little higher hp numbers than it otherwise would because of corrections being different. I was reading about the dyno dynamics dyno after the dyno day to learn more about them, and that's what I got out of it -- besides about 3 different forums calling them the heartbreak dyno because of lower readings than any others.

Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!

My stock evo dyno'd at 233/248 stock is like 278 or somewhere around their so you figure about 18% or so. 25% is high.
