Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!
um....using a SAFC as a display? that would classify as rice in my book..there's many other things you could spend your money on for display purposes that would give you that kinda info..sell the safc if you won't even ever use it. Put the money to good use.
As for the sidemount issue..try going with a supra sidemount.they are slightly thicker and bigger. Also, ducting some air straight into the sidemount will allow for the air to be a bit cooler..I've even seen a few people but a 4-6" fan on the sidemounts to pull air through them..not sure if it really helps, but i don't see how it could hurt it.

Um...have you seen my car? Did you see the other cars there? Pretty sure a 98 GSX with like $5000 in it beating those cars is putting money to good use. The only reason I even have that much in the car is cause a bearing went out in the tranny and destroyed it a couple years ago. I have yet to even put cams in the car.
I don't think I wasted money.

I guess I haven't seen a display that shows a bunch of stuff like an AFC does for cheap -- tach recall, etc and even knock. Plus I already have the AFC cause I used it to tune at first -- If you know of something better that I can come out ahead on money wise after selling the AFC let me know.

I never said the sidemount was an issue. I'm keeping it. I never have had a problem with it even when it's hot out. Actually I ran most of the summer a couple years ago with no intercooler at all (just to see how it worked) at 20PSI with 95 degree temperatures outside with no problems.

The knock display on your SAFC is about useless.

Didn't have a problem or didn't know how bad your intake temps actually got

Didn't knock, but yeah you couldn't even touch the piping from the turbo to the TB. No knock is no knock and nothing ever happened to my engine. E85 is awesome.

I know that the actual number shown doesn't correlate to anything, but from what I've seen if the number doesn't go up more when going higher on timing, leaner AFR, more boost, or higher outside temperatures -- you should be good knock wise. Especially since OBD2 logging sucks so much.

To be fair you did dyno in fwd which means you cant really compare your numbers to the awd cars. I would imagine you would be right in with the rest of the pack in awd mode, around 300awhp.
Perhaps Shane can chime in.

You didn't dyno and I'm pretty sure your car is in pieces right now; no need to start bench racing wars

The Saab calls out the WRX But I think 2 people have to be in the WRX to be the "handicap".

If you have a 1G, like your name suggests, it shouldn't be too hard to have $4000 in it. My 1G I have like less than $1000 in.

For some reason, people thought that SRT4 was so great though -- that's fwd. It showed almost identical torque as my car, but to me it looked like it could've been just from a boost spike, because the torque dropped a lot right away, and I think that was before the tire blew.
I think only 7 of us broke 300hp actually. I would like to know about how much mine would be in awhp -- it can't hardly have more than twice as much power loss to awd as fwd can it? Also I wouldnt have spun the tires if i was in awd -- so that wouldve helped some (also wouldve then turned up the boost a little more). When i turned up the boost, my hp curve dropped like a rock after 5-5500 because of wheel spin -- I actually showed less power above 6 grand with 24psi than with 21. It was very obvious watching the car that it was spinning -- not the clutch slipping or knock. I was happy with 380lbs of torque, but was hoping for 365hp (but with more boost than I ran). I don't know if it matters much or not but, my downpipe is only 1 3/4" at the front, and my manifold & o2 housing are untouched also.
