I just ordered the silicone connectors, filter, etc. When the MAF flange shows in a few weeks then I'll get Primo working on it.

I'm hoping for a final tune in August. The car is burning oil (presumably the turbo) but it makes power. <shrug>

Ah, right, forgot the MAF flange's were an issue.

Re: Evo X upgrades

This guy has the same afpr that I do. If do have to install it, I'll make a bracket to mount it in the same spot...the way he used some loops off of the fuel rail looks nice.

Here is a pic of the AMI A-pillar (stock pillar w/fiberglass) and the PLX gauges.

Looks nice, I'll have to check those out if you're around next week during my b-day dinner, tune, or Friday evening events at JJ's Clubhouse.

Re: Evo X upgrades

Those look pretty good, I want to get that pillar, but visibility already sucks with the X, does this make it worse? If not I will have to pick one up. My gauge on the steering wheel blocks a lot of the speedo and when I get a wideband would block a lot of the tach.

I look around so much before I turn or switch lanes in the car...too many close calls just trying to use mirrors etc. Parking was even a challenge at first til i got used to the car because the visibility is so bad on the sides.

But easy when you get a feel for it. I am thinking about doing something to try and help it if possible, not sure what can be done though.

No, it's pretty much out of the way. If you're up to DB in the next few days then check it out.

This AMI pillar is spendy because it's a factory pillar with pods fiberglassed in by hand (I have a spare core if someone wants it). Rexpeed now sells a 'cover' that you glue over your own pillar and just drill holes in it for the wires. Shawn just bought one of those. It's a shiny plastic and I think he's going to look for some spray paint that matches and fix it that way.

I've run out of excuses to go up to DB...no reason to stop there unless I have parts. I do need to grab my motor mount insert from MAP and bring it to them. But I will wait to up to DB until my V2 SSP MC comes in next week.

How much is expensive? 2-300? PM me if you want.

Doah, I so want your "core" cover, just in case I decide to go back to stock. Yep the Rexpeed cover is what I have, the plastic is way to shiny to just put in, (Read glare from the sun, yuck!) I am planning on getting some matte finish paint so it matches the other a pillar (May paint them both so they match exactly).

That guage setup is so cool, major blingage!

Re: Evo X upgrades

Those pillars sell for $50 or so. Crazy what they get for plastic. If you end up wanting it then I'm sure I'll owe you for something by then. lol.

Shane surprised me by getting my car on the dyno today! He said he had to raise fueling by 10% in the higher rpms. The Bosch flows pretty well compared to two Walbros, in other words.

I'll try to go grab the Evo over lunch tomorrow. It's a PITA to transport the car around since I live alone. Will have to have my Dad help me retrieve the beater on Saturday. I was thinking of running over to that MAP event on Saturday anyway...I'll have the cool car now.

Re: Evo X upgrades

Still at 430ish I am guessing? I don't know if I have ever seen a graph at that level...do you have one? Would love to see torque, spool, all that good stuff.

I'd assume so. He said 25psi. My boost gauge read 24.2 on a pull the other day so that's pretty darn close. Shane said that the ECU pulls timing at about 7k rpm due to running out of MAF, so the graph wouldn't look very pretty.

I have a track day on the 26th but hopefully I'll have an intake and will have Shane retune with that and the ID2000's...end of the month or early Aug.

My goal is to have the car DONE by the Cookout. It's totally do-able. I just have the APR splitter and the brake upgrades to do...along with a few quick things (bushings, endlinks, corner balance, etc).

It's still in the 390-410 range. It's isn't running that much boost or timing yet. The fuel gets a little sketchy when it gets close to maxing the MAF. I assume we will go for more a bigger power tune once the 3.5" intake is done and the 2200s are back in. It's just something for him to drive on for now.

Ah, gotcha, fair enough. I knew it wouldn't be a ton just because the MAF was going to be a problem.
