Re: Magnus Motorsports
I know cast intercooler end-tanks weigh less than their welded sheet metal counterparts. Not so with intake manifolds?

the magnus intake mani is REALLY light. Im almost wondering why they dont use a thicker metal, probably eliminate a lot of the cracking issues because they would use a thicker weld as well. The walls of the SMIM are pretty thin.

I've never seen a cast manifold that was lighter than a SMIM, is there one out there?

Re: Magnus Motorsports
someone should make a Carbon Fiber intake manifold, that would be tight.
edit: The honda guys have them looks like a really sweet peice. http://www.advancedinductionresearch.com/

Re: Magnus Motorsports
I was told a while ago that if its not tapered at the back it causes excess turbulance. because the air hits a wall at the back, also has to do with the velocity of the air, hence why the magnus is such a good one, because it starts off fat, then tapers down. I could be wrong but this is just what i heard from someone who shall not be named.

Re: Magnus Motorsports
The Pushit1.0 destroyed the Magnus in the last SMIM shootout; higher flow and better runner balance.

The manifold in the pics is the same one that was used for testing in that too.
