I was at Brookdale when you were buying your EVO last week. I was checking it out in the service bay when you were with the salesman. The Aero kit is a nice touch on the new EVO. I like!!!!

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Looks like Vishnu is already starting the tuning game:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=322616

The cliff notes is Vishnu has already gotten a 70hp gain from stock with just a tune. No bolt-ons yet. The EVO X comes super rich out of the box, but it has a better stock fuel pump then the IX and 650cc injectors are stock. There is some great poential with this car. WOW!!!

later,
Curt

Big injectors, tiny turbo. I know it's been said that it's a 15G, but is it TD04 or TD05? The 15G I know is TD04.

Damn, that is rich. The power is similar to stock Evo IXs that I have dynoed, but they ran a tad lean and would sometimes knock stock.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Does the ECU control it that well at 10:1, or is that maybe the limit of the wideband and it just stops at 10:1 because it can't read any richer than that?

10:1 is most likely as rich as the WB will read.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

The wideband or probably in this case(if they have the normal Autronic wideband that can read down to 9.0:1) actually the dyno software's setup is maxed and can't go richer than 10.0:1.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Does it run that rich because mitsu is concerned about the block or integrity of the engine? Or some reason like that? Because I would think there's really no need, and just having big injectors isn't an excuse.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

The Evo 8 and 9 ran surprisingly lean for a stock factory turbo car. The OEMs usually have any boosted car run in the 9s or 10s stock, to make sure they don't blow up down the road with the fuel filter starts getting clogged or the fuel pump or fuel injectors no longer work as well as they should.

Mitsu knew they would all be modded within a few months anyway

Now they are aiming for the M3/S4 market (yeah right, goodluck) with the X they couldn't make that assumption.

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

Buschur finally got their car. They built a super sexy dual exhaust for it and have made impressive gains with minimal parts, like others.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/showpos...&postcount=128

"BR 3" True Dual catback exhaust, BR upper i/c pipe, BR airfilter kit, BR 3" offroad pipe and BR mbc"

+102whp / +81 wtq, zero tuning yet

Re: EvoX Dyno Numbers have arrived!!

In other news AGP has a standard 20G compressor wheel stuffed under the stock compressor cover of an X.....they are claiming 430whp on dynopack, but no pics of the beast....people are starting to tune with the AEM FIC (like tim/X Factor was talking about getting for his 4G). The results look impressive
