This shell will never be made AWD. Maybe in a couple years if I decide to swap it all into a shell that isn't half rusted, then I'll consider that. But that may be a conversion I'd have to contract out to someone who knows what the hell they're doing. I don't trust myself with that measure of work. I'd have a drive shaft that's cocked at a 5* angle or something by the time I'm done!

Re: New Hot Rod!
Ya I seen that. But didn't he do his swap on a sedan? I'd think there would be a few differences when dealing with a hatch.

Re: New Hot Rod!
There were people a few years back actually did a swapped on a hatch. It isn't too hard but costly. If I were to do it, I will pay someone to complete it for me.I wouldn't mind buying his dvd but I'm going to wait for burn copy.
Good luck man. I'm thinking of getting that black one out in PA. What is he asking for it is a nice deal.

Re: New Hot Rod!
Well I've been pretty lazy with this thing as of late since it's so deng cold. Anywho I put in about 2 hours of work on it today. I managed to accomplish:
- Installed FIAV/ISC blocked of 92 style throttle body
- Installed 1g Fuel Rail (this is needed for the 92 TB to fit) w/ colt FPR
- Removed all A/C lines but one.
- Removed DS fender that was dangling and driving me nuts for the past few weeks.
- Removed FPR Solenoid
- Removed some excessive bracketry and stuff that will no longer be needed.
Big thanks to QPR for the lovely EGR and FIAV block off plates!!! HAHA j/k, nobody get ur panties in a bunch!

Re: New Hot Rod!
Maybe one of the mods could move this to the project forum, since this is going to be my project and I'll update it as I go along.

Re: New Hot Rod!
Ripped out the rest of the AC, except the compressor. That thing is rusted in there. I'll get it eventually.
I ripped out the fuse box pertaining to the AC fan, compressor, and radiator fan. I'll probably just wire the fan constantly on.
I am going to be doing a P/S elimination mod (big thanks to my Honda friends for the idea). This should eliminate everything dealing with P/S, leaving only a reservoir and a couple short hose lines.
I ripped out the radiator. It will be replaced with a Del Sol half sized radiator.
That's it so far.

Re: New Hot Rod!
Started soldering all the wires that were just twisted and taped together. Got all the big power wires done. Next is all the small ones. Also replaced the 90 TPS with the 91 style plug since I'll be running a 91 TB now.

Don't do this, it is bad move. You are going to over heat. It has been proven that Honda civic radiators does not supply enough cooling for these cars.

Re: New Hot Rod!
I guess I never thought to ask, but why are you replacing the radiator anyway? I thought you were going with a standard mitsu turbo, in which case you'll have no fitment issues.

Re: New Hot Rod!
Thanks for your concerns on the radiator, but I'm doing it anyway.
It'll be an aftermarket all aluminum half-sized radiator, not a stock civic one. The stock civic ones are only like 5/8" thick. The del sol vtec's stock one was a dual core that was 1 1/2-2" thick which is what I was originally looking for. I can't find any, and since I have the money right now, I will just play it safe and get a much thicker, all aluminum, aftermarket one.

I'm going to do it because I have the money, the stock one is in rough shape, and the aftermarket ones aren't all the expensive. So since it's already all out, I'm just going to go ahead and do it now.

^^^The boy has money. No one tells him what to do. j/k It's cool you know what you want to do and have plans. Some folks here (including myself because I'm poor) slap on the cheapest crap they can find and pray that they can push 4000 hps. Your project is looking good. Mad props!

Not claiming to be baller. Just saying I have tax return money right now, and I might not later, so I'm doing it now while I have the money.

Re: New Hot Rod!
If your not upgrading the turbo or anything else, why not just buy a new oem radiator for 100 bucks instead of an aluminum one?

Re: New Hot Rod!
^^^it is probably better in the long run. If he sticks to the OEM size, the colt will have a problem with FMIC fitment issues down the road. Plus the cash you paid for OEM, it would be better to spend alittle more $$ on it. I like what B is doing and his goals.

Re: New Hot Rod!
Peter, because the aluminum one is $95
And also, yes I'm sticking with that stock turbo for now, I will upgrade later probably. But I am adding an Evo8 fmic since these things came non-intercooled. And this other radiator will help make more room for me to route the piping over to the drivers side.
