To me that takes out the "convenience" of e85 though which is a huge reason I run it.
If I had to do that I would probably opt for a different form of race gas, be it buying e85/c85/e98 by the barrel or c16/ms109 or vp import or something.
once you graduate to the whole barrel for fueling then it becomes a whole new game in my mind. And also at that point, I'd rather have something that didn't require a HUGE fuel system, so I'd opt for race fuel over e85 variants.

How? Buy a drum of E98? At that point, just run the E98.

I say stick to pump gas. E85 is great if you can get real e85 all the time. But with how much money you guys got into your cars I say stick with pump gas.

I love E85 havent had one problem...yet lol. Ron does all my tuning, cant go wrong their. I have a Zeitronix ECA for easy monitoring and evoscan for logging some WOT pulls.

That's what everyone says until they plug an injector and window the block. Play it safe and run a tank of gas through the system every month. I sell the shit for a living, I'm not making this up.

And if not a tank of pump, at the very least an E85 specific cleaner of some sort. Both Lucas and Gumout sell products designed to clean E85 fuel systems.
When my injectors come out this spring we'll see how well the Lucas offering has been doing.

Re: SE take two! Err, make that three!
^Excellent point. Other fuel additives such as Chevon Techron are also supposed to be compatible with ethanol. The problem is there are just no standards or requirements for E85 like there is pump gasoline.

Re: SE take two! Err, make that three!
Hmm, I've gone about 8000 miles on E-fuel since looking at my injectors. Now I am super curious to know what they look like. I'll find out when I swap the heads in a week.

I put 10k miles on my dw1300's, they looked perfect when I pulled them.
I guess all of those miles weren't e85, all but maybe 1000 or 1500 were though.

I've asked Ron these same questions about the injectors gumming up and he said hes never seen one do that.

Could be a higher quality of local fuel? Somehow I doubt that though. I've seen so many images of the gunk that it's just easier for me to be safe than sorry. It's not a myth, that's for damn sure.

All depends on the blender, and what they're currently blending with.

Re: SE take two! Err, make that three!
It all depends on your E85source. The E85 down here is notorious for it; seems hit or miss up there.

Yeah i suppose, maybe later this spring when a few more EF2.5's get tuned and tweaked I'll get a 91 map as well.

You don't even need a full MAP. Just get your injectors scaled right for 91, then just cruise/idle around town and stay outta boost for 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank (don't fill up all the way in my opinion) and you will be good.

This statement right here will save you all the hassle of this entire thread. People forget to realize that owning a laptop, Tactrix cable, and some software doesn't make you a tuner just because you read a thread about it online.

^Exactly; logging/tweaking isn't tuning.
