when you buy a new car you have i believe 30 days to tell your insurance company, and they backdate your insurance to the date of purchase. this may apply to adding insurance to a vehicle as well. call them and tell them you switched cars 2 weeks ago and need to have your coverage updated, and a copy sent to you
chances are, even if you called right now and said put coverage on it, they would send you an insurance card for August 1st 2004 through Feb 1st 2004 or whatever, and you'd be fine
