Re: Potential Buy 1997 GSX

They make most interior pieces in black. There are many panels however that were not made in black. I believe those are the rear plastics but I could be wrong. Everything major was made in black however, just as Fejery4491 said.

I too have taken the dash out of my '95 5+ times. It's easy and there are a few write ups. I may even have the printed out version I can get the link off of.

Also, the place you speak of is Miller Import Parts. The owner is a stand up guy. I've never been able to buy from him but he always responds to my questions. Even after hours! A friend of mine bought a '99 3000GT VR4 front bumper from him and had it grey-hounded up here for $200 total. Pretty decent for an OEM piece.

Re: Potential Buy 1997 GSX

It'd weird what im finding is only the 99 came with a black interior. But when they list the black interior parts they only mentions , doors, dash, armrest , seats, and front paneling.

Not the trunk panels, carpet, or headliner, a pillars.

I'd hate to start piecing this stuff together only to not have to end up painting some pieces.

Just seems weird that mitsubishi wouldn't do a complete black interior.

Some 98's came with black interior. I wouldn't say 100% black but about 90% of it was.

Re: Potential Buy 1997 GSX

If it were me I would just use the ones you have and plasti-dipping them. Obviously using a degreaser on everything before doing so. Then all you need is the dash, door panels, carpet and headliner. Seats too I suppose.

Re: Potential Buy 1997 GSX

Well the car got dynod today 22psi@93oct. Put down 334awhp on a mustang dyno.
Owner mentioned that the car sputters at partial throttle at 60mph due to the large injectors on pump gas

Re: Potential Buy 1997 GSX

He said they idled just fine. But he has always had his idle set at 18000roma due to the cams.

He said the only issues hes having is a hiccup while cruising around 60mph or partial throttle.

But said he drove around today and said it drive great other then the above issue. He said the tuner wad able to adjust some of it out but couldn't get it all.

This is a short clip of idle and sounds better. The first one sounds like rod knock

Re: Potential Buy 1997 GSX

Other question I have is I know the current owner bought the eagle steering wheel from tkrperformance on here. And the pictures of the car when he bought it had talon side rails on the door. But had unpainted front and rear eclipse bumpers.

Hes since pulled the side rails off (which I will have to have the holes filled and the car painted) which I knew about.

But my concern is this. The vin he gave is for a 1997 eclipse. Amd I have never heard of anyone going from an eclipse to a talon look. Usually its the other way around.
Now I don't care if its a talon as it looks like an eclipse. My concern is if there is something else going on.

If anyone sees tkr on (mark right?) Please ask him if the guy who bought his steering wheel ever mentioned what kind of car it is for.

In recent years 2gb talons have become the ones everybody wants, so its becoming more and more common to convert them to talons. Not uncommon at all.

Re: Potential Buy 1997 GSX

I always like the talon with eclipse front and rears. Even the two tone look they had.

This issue is more of a trust thing then anything else. All his seller/buyer raitngs have been great. Amd so far hes been excellent with communication and answering questions.

That's a minor thing. My car is an Eclipse with Talon front and rear, pretty common to swap parts these days.
