I say from experience in an off-road context. Unfortunately I haven't been able to weigh any on road ones personally. I will look for some samples next time I'm out looking at molds and prototypes though from some carbon suppliers.
The rear tires do look pretty beastly on the car. Hopefully the extra width on the front doesn't make for difficult turning in parking lots. I'm also getting a 300mm wheel (inch smaller than my old one), plus tighter ratio than stock, plus wider tires... hmmm could be interesting.
I was seriously considering doing 10:1 pistons, nice valvetrain, and the BOE Rev400 TVS supercharger with the front HEX, but that's a lot of money. I even had the stock supercharger and intercooler setup for sale as a feeler to see how much I could get. Maybe next winter.

I was asking $3500 for the whole setup: supercharger, intake manifold, RLS intercooler/pipes/heatshield, roof scoop ducting, the side scoop ducting stuff, and injectors. But the BOE kit is 7k, plus the pistons and head work... it just got to be too expensive.
So I was really undecided lately, as I sold my stock style wing and have an APR wing in the garage, but I have been really digging the wingless look. Then I test fit the APR wing and I kind of like it. It's pretty big but doesn't look too gaudy like I thought it would.
Hopefully I'll have it mounted in the next week or two, and painted black.
Also got my new steering wheel, the grip is much thicker than the old one, I really like it:
Andrew... I've been scrolling up and down for 5 minutes. I can't decide what I like better - wingless or with a wing. Either way, car looks sexy as hell.

Genius Scheides, I will think of a way to mount it so it can come off in a few minutes. Then maybe get a few bumper plugs or something to fill the holes while it's off for street duty. The wing really is functional, test data says downforce is about 180lbs at 100mph, and 260lbs at 120mph, so at the track it will be on for sure.
But I love how the rear end is accentuated without a wing. Really brings out the body lines of the roof to hatch area plus the little lip at the end, which gets unnoticed with a wing there. I think the wheels at the absolute back end of the car help the look without the wing there.

Just be real careful man, make sure it is strong strong strong. I always think back to this crash caused by the uprights of an aftermarket wing failing and it tipping over:
Not using Dzus for a wing, that would scare me.
There are 3 studs coming out the bottom of each mount, each one is 6mm diameter with a 10mm nut. The center studs also connect to a brace inside the trunk. So I guess to remove it I just need a 10mm wrench for each of the 6 nuts and I can leave the trunk brace in place all the time.
The clam is drilled and wing in place, just need to get the trunk brace installed. The hatch has about 1/2" clearance when opening, and the wing is mounted nearly at the back of the car. Close fit.
Ahh cool. When I first went wingless on beaterX I just took a piece of electric tape cut in a circle and put some on top of the lid as well as some from the bottom. It wasn't perfect, but it stayed in place for several weeks of daily driving and even car washes without issue. You could try red electrical tape and see how close it is. From a few feet away if the color is close you won't hardly see them.
You could also get color-matched vinyl decals made, but that will get a little more expensive.
