It's going to be a full time job just keeping all the gauges working.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

I gotta pull one of the boosts and put in my auto temp one.

Also just put the narrow band in there to see if I cut the hole right.

Why the steering wheel? Cause its better than rocking a stock one with airbag for track days.

Also huge thanks to Tyler, Miles and Joel. Got a lot more done than I thought I would which is awesome considering we didn't start doing anything till 6:30 tonight.

Got the JIC coilovers installed, trans bolted to the motor with the kiggly kit, and the motor installed in the car. Also swapped rear rotors out for the slotted ones I had sitting here.

On to the pics.

Not much left now!

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Any suggestions for break in. 10-30 conventional with zinc additive? I'd research but back at work and have no free time but would like to pick up today or tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

New motor? I'd just a dino oil and put in some additive maybe.

Someone made a post about oil somewhere, i don't remember. But don't worry about it too much, oil is dependent on tolerances used more than anything from what I've been told.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Hey that's my thread! Most of that is already after initial break in in my thread. What I did was just put in some really cheap 30wt for initial start up. I ran it for 20min between 2k and 3k rpms varying it the whole time. Then i put in amsoil break in oil. Ran that for the first 30 miles then changed the oil. Then i put in amsoil break in oil again and ran that to 250 miles then changed to a couple conventional.

Regular conventional though too

The traditional school of thought was to use a non-detergent oil with no friction modifiers, so the rings had more friction to establish their wear patterns against the cylinder walls.

The people over at Bob is the Oil guy keep finding high concentration of Molybdenum in new cars when they preform a UOA, so that kind of blows the old school theory out of the water.

Frankly, I'm not sure what to believe any more.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily

Map usually has amsoil break in oil in stock ;-) it's like 7 bucks a quart. Let me know if you do start her up. If I'm off work I'll swing up if you want a hand

Now in stupid carpet layer talk. Lol.

But yeah I don't think it matters as long as you get that zinc in there.
