Haha was waiting for that^^

I would def take it easy, I have had friends fry those bullseye fitty trims up, I wouldn't trust one to 30psi for sure.

Haha! Funny Picture, yeah prollly ...that's what dsms are known for ... but on the serious side it might give might not. it might cook the turbo it might not im suppose to be running my coolant lines as well ....but I wont get the cross pipe welded in time for the correct fitting to turbo so ill cross my fingers and ughhh bring some ice lol jk, but for the money spend if it holds up till fall again id be happy..but yeah I got some arp's and went "cometic" I believe it was instead of mls..odd combo most would say...however I looked both a mls and a cometic side by side that John ran whos set up is ungodly and should not be mistaken with regular street cars...but I'm confident it'll hold at my power levels. Just keep an close eye on the over flow tank

Re: Project XXX AWD WHP Or Bust!

You should be fine. I ran stock head gasket and studs on my car. Never left the head and I ran 28-32 psi. It was driven very hard all the time. Do you have a power goal? Or are just going to be happy with whatever it makes and just drive the car

Re: Project XXX AWD WHP Or Bust!

To be honest I kind of gave up on reaching a specific number. I'm seriously leaning towards the fun and respectable power level, that's streetable...stop light...entrance ramp, groccery shopping pulls... pick on the occasional M3 buster with the victoria secret model strappd next to him....you know just fun power overall. However if its below 350whp ill be a little sad but once I source some camms I'm sure 350 should be accessible. I've always just wanted to say my engine makes tripple diggit horse
Power per cylinder 400 would be best on heart braker dyno. I got ways to go before that ...my fuel set up should be plenty ...clutch is fine ...engine is healthy...maybe a hx 35 will get me there who knows but I'm focused on the present haha

Re: Project XXX AWD WHP Or Bust!

Went for a shakedown run trying to burp any issues up before the Tune and sure enough cruising down 77 and there go the gauges ...no spark, no fuel, no nothing not even a crank...my windows didn't work nothing! Turns out i blew my ignition fuse...Now where to start diagnosing...i think ill start with my gauge wiring to my ecu...im tapping power of the red power wire of the ECU some recommend that place where as others are against it? Its worked well so far for me...im not sure why or what could of shorted in my ignition circuit...wild guess starter circuit maybe ....? Ill hafta check on it tomorrow during the day! with TWO DAY's lets get this thing rolling!

Re: Project XXX AWD WHP Or Bust!

Figures, anywhos I really need to figure out why my ignition fuse keeps blowing.... What else is on that circuit besides the starter. Looks like a starter bolt came loose and fell out, not the one that bolts to the transmission but the solenoid screws... you might even call them. I inserted a 20 amp fuse just for testing purposes... after fixing/ tightening the one left over bolt... Turned the key and pop it blew... What do I try next ....a bigger fuse stupid idea 40 amp.. just to roll my windows up and lock the car....but i removed the starter power wire from the + terminal and only left the switch wire hooked up...rolled the windows up ect but tried cranking it over to see if the solenoid would engage and it did, but I noticed smoke starting to rise so I shut the key off immediatelly called it a night ...its to dark to diagnose ...I'm not sure if I'll be able to get this figured out before the tune I'm not the luckiest that's for sure...better now then on the dyno though I guess

Its a dsm. Problem solved. A way to fix it is a can of gas and a match. Lol jk. You have a bad wire somewhere. Did you take the harness apart

Re: Project XXX AWD WHP Or Bust!

I couldnt agree more with you 93 sometimes, but i did some digging ! I got the car towed to our shop and actually diagnosed it for a bit and after 10 min of tare down i found that my starter solenoid or switch wire got caught between my axle and tranny and pretty much got owned as well as my reverse switch...spend about 15min patching that up amongst other things...once i finished inspecting misc things i came across a huge bundle of melted wire ...pinched between my radiator support bracket the lower driver side one to be excact...where the radiator sits...and well the wire loom was half melted of and all the wires sticking to gether....

since its to much of a pain to pull the radiator right now amongst other things... i fixed the starter wire and reverse wire took a quick peek at the wires i didnt see any exposed copper wire in the patch of molten wires...put a new fuse in..started it ran for about 10 seconds and it died again fuse died...inserted another one same result so i called it a night. I guess tomorrow ill pull the radiator ect and cut the molten section of insulation and wire apart t...wist the wires together put some replacment wire inbetween of course to make up for the cut section of the harness and solder the connection and heat shrink em then electrical tape them and see what happens if that doesnt do it....might as well part it out...or just put a jumper wire in place and push it down the road with the key turned...and call 911

Re: Project XXX AWD WHP Or Bust!

I haven't updated this thread in a long while, basically in a nut shell i never quite figured out my parasitic draw. However the conclusion me and another friend came to, was that ABS module relay was drawing power, as well as my heater circuit ( the abnormal behaviour was that the blower motor could be turned on with the key off and out the ignition. )

Next... , but not least is the window circuit also drawing amperage, with the key out. To fix the abs module issue we just unplugged it. As far as the window and blower circuit im not quite sure yet havent traced the wiring yet.

In the mean time I decided to give Plasti dip a chance. There are a few picture of what exactly i Dipped. I went as far as trying my valve cover, Wheels, Front Bumper, Side skirts, Hood, Interior ect. If i get the chance to order the spray gun, i might try the roof or the black portion of the two tone as well....The valve cover probably not again....(Seemed like a good idea at the point, until i remembered temperature after everything was installed) However believe it or not the Plasti Dip held up fine to the temperature however it was contact with fluids that it could not stand. Specifically hot oil

For the more exciting news, I finally got the chance to make the switch to Corn. Which was exciting but sort of stress full. Getting the car all up to par ...getting metering devices hooked up. DSM LINK kept showing to codes Engine temp sensor as well as knock sensor circuit. Those issues eventually got sortted out. As time went along I also got around to ordering my FIC 1450CC Injectors. 280BC Camms, which are not installed yet. I settled for about 26-28PSI of boost and Turned it down from 30PSI which was the max boost i ran with no difficulties. Besides blowing my intercooler piping apart for now.... (I am in need of a bigger boost gauge as well)

Link

I also did a few random things between here and there. Enjoyed the car on E after it sat for the whole winter due to a transmission issue. (2weeks if ...that!) The problem causing me to park the car was one of the c clip's to keep the shift linkage in place. In the Engine Bay (Which i was positive i checked, oh well it was fixed)

Catch can mock set up

Super filthy car but bumper is dipped and side skirts done

Turbo size differenze ehhh not to big but i like it for its streeteability

Just some random picture of the Talon last fall downtown ...all cleaned up...dents to fix so many dents to FIX! Winter was harsh!

Unfortunately the vehicle is again in parts and pieces as of last week... in the drive way snowed in :/ Background story on that, i was having issues with one of my bell housing bolts continuously coming loose. Or i thought it was ‘’one’’ atleast... To keep a long story short and bring everyone up to date it snapped of the day before, i painted my interior and exterior ...INSIDE THE BLOCK ...!...Awesome! However i did not know this before hand and after fixing a few minor issues Boost leaks..exhaust leaks..oil leaks...coolant leaks ...Wideband reading funny and not matching the numbers in Link.

Yeah it was 50 degrees like two days before...which is why i event decided to do this outside...

I attempted going on a slight shake down run to make sure everything that had gone wrong was fixed. Fill up on fresh E85 to see whether, that might be the issue why i couldnt get the car to idle it was on Empty...as well as Degrease and pressure wash the underside of my Car. Fuel wasnt the issue HA! Stinking Transmission thats rattling all over the place was!

While pulling out the drive way the car just wouldn’t stay running, it was shuttering like no other i made it half way down the drive way and it was vibrating and shuttering so bad it Shut of …at that point I figured something must be loose ...went to go check the bolt that always came loose...and sure enough it was ….tried putting the New bolt I got for it in. Only threaded a few turns. And I realized a greater issue was at hand, and quit for the day. Bought new Drill bits ..extractors…lock tight and everything else needed to fix it once and right…Problem is after getting the transmission out I spotted a slight crack on one of the Bolt holes on the bell housing…great…At that point I figured it’s a loss cause…

Took my transmission over to John’s house who was nice enough to help me crack it open and also take a look inside at the gears… something I had been wanting to do for quite some time…and that was followed by some more bad news…No Major damage …besides some odd things here and there, instead just a 21 year old Transmission. Still shifted alright besides the second gear grind at high rpms...

Basically it was just worn out. So that’s where I am at right now just trying to figure out a quick and cost effective way to get it back up on the road and save up for a sweet shifting transmission. A lot of stuff happened in between.

-Like the story off my oil filter blowing its seal out

- The shake down run followed by the clinking noise that disappeared (Turned out it was the bolt that snapped off and fell onto the road)

-The phantom Boost problem....

-How i came up with the side exit waste gate dump pipe and some fabrication steps
Step 1 FLIP YO WASTE GATE UPSIDE DOWN !

-Step 2
Re-install your waste gate and be sure not to drop your fire ring else you wont be making any boost at all!

-Step 3
Find some all Jank Exhaust Piping like of your honda civics that you replaced with a nice ebay kit Cost still 0 Cents and 0 Dollars

-Step Whenever
Figure out where you want your pipe to come out

-Step 4
Mock up the pipe and get your bends figured out....if you cant bend ...well then cut and tack a million times cost still free 99

-Step 5
Figure the top part out and weld it all into place...tighten your bolts up make sure to figure out a way to secure the pipe...or use light piping ...remembering only two bolts are holding your waste gate pipe to your actual waste gate HA! I used an exhaust hanger...(the portion of the pipe that had the perfect bend and hanger location...so mine is sturdy. I would recommend perhaps even using a flex section oh and be sure to wrap it with heat wrap!

-ect ect Pictures speak a thousand words and ive already spoken a thousand or just about...If you see a picture just ask whats going on or ill try and add some description...while the day goes on.

My Goals and plans from here on out is focus on getting all leaks sealed up: Throttle body still has a slight boost leak, Re assemble my transmission, set up my suspension for some track time this year. My goal is:
- 10.9 in ¼ Mile With about 400-450 Whp and a see if we can get the car down to 2800LBS or so?

I think the car has enough power to perhaps do it. Yet i dont know anything about actual DRAG RACING LOL! But In reality I would be happy with a 12 second pass It’s a lofty goal but with a good shifting transmission and some driver modding it should be possible I hope…or think? What do you guys think?

Current Mod List as the car stands:

-Rebuilt 6 Bolt Block
-ACL Race Rod Bearings
-Stock pistons and rods
-280 Brain crower Camms
-FP Exhaust Manifold
-Turbo Precision 5031- (50 Trimmish)

- Summit racing aluminum Fuel Filter
-Short Shifter
-New Shift linkage cables with solid bearings

-Wheel Bearings
-SS Front Brake Lines
-New Driver Front Axle
-Dent Repair
-Shave some more weight where ever I can. I cant shave any personally i only weigh like 170 ha

-*Shane Tune come Summer*

If you have any advice on reaching the goals, and objectives I have please do share…if you have question’s ill share what I know. Basically im still trying to have fun with the car…and im not going to the the DSM’er that just always is wrenching on the car with these HUGE AND LOFTY IDEAS AND GOALS but instead…once its put together ill be keeping it the way it is and just enjoy the car for a little untill something ...perhaps might brake…which inevitably will be soon im sure :P

Night we finally got the car switched over to E
