03 evo8 for sale
Hi guys, I'm new to the site and I was hoping I have better luck selling my car here. From the looks of it, everyone seems pretty cool and very helpful. Anyways, I have an 03 evo 8 with 59k miles for sale. I'm the first owner and this car has a clean car fax/history. Like any other evo owner's, I've babied it and try keeping it clean as possible. Me personally, I will give it a 9/10. And car runs great with no wierd noises or mechanical problems. All tune-ups has been done begining of the year. Spark plugs/wires has been replace. Reason due to selling is because, me and wife just bought a house and with two kids and one on the way, I think its time to move on. Plus, I would like to see this car go to another dsm/evo enthusiastic. Here's a list of mods I've done to the car:
engine/drivetrain:
-hks exhaust
-hks downpipe
-hks intake
-hks blowoff valve
-perrin delete pipe w/resonator
-injen intercooler pipings
-brian crower 272's cams
-findanza cam gears w/clear cover
-x's ignition amp
-act street clutch w/heavy pressure plate (less than 10k miles)
-10lbs flywheel
-stock turbo, intercooler, injectors, tranny, transfer case, differ
exterior:
-color: yellow (not too many around, as far as I know)
-seibon carbon fiber hood
-carbon fiber duck lip
-carbon fiber emblems
-everything else I just kept it stock
others:
-BF Goodrich tires (less than 5k miles)
-autometer triple gauge pod w/cutout tweeter
-autometer gauges (oil, fuel and boost)
-apexi turbo timer
-greddy profec B boost controller
I've had the car dyno and tuned by Shane at DB. Ecu flash. Made 300whp on 92 gas octane and 22 psi. Fastest track time was a 12.7 at 109mph w/a slipping stock clutch. A decent time, that was 4-5 yrs ago. Ever since then, I've never done any mods to it. Now a days, evo's will be making a whoppin crazy numbers. Wish I can do that to my evo too. Thumbs up though to those evo owner's. Like I said, the car sits in the garage and barely driven. My asking price is $17,500 firm. KBB/NADA list it for about the same price. Thats without the money I spent for parts/labor. No trades, test drives etc. you know how that works. All the stock parts I have will go along with the car. Serious buyers only please! I'm probably forgetting some stuff but if you're interested or have any other questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for looking guys!

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
If I take this car out and run a 12.0 can I have it?
Looks great though, GLWS

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
Lolz, I really never had the chance to see what the car can do. Made only 3 runs and the clutch started slippin on me. My fault in the first place. Should've replace the stock clutch. To answer your question, buy it first then you can take it out and run 12.0, lol. Anyways, thanks bro!

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
awesome car.... if I didn't find my evo last year, I would definitely be coming to look at this
I personally like the yellow, but I will bet the color will make this a hard sell.

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
thanks zivman, I don't know if its a rare color but I don't see too many yellow evo's in mn. I could've sold the car last year with tons of peeps interested but I decided to keep it not knowing this year was going to be like this. If I don't sell by November, its going into storage.

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
Maybe a mod can move this to the for sale section? That might help a little.

You have it listed on craigs?
the color doesn't help... but selling an evo is hard. everyone assumes mitsus are shit and that every evo will have been beaten to death. We all know only one of those is true.
If it makes you feel any better, I'll offer you 10 grand for the car.... it aint your asking price, but it's a cash in hand offer

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
Yea, I had it on craigslist but a bunch of low ballers, no offense to anybody. Doesn't matter wat car you drive, you're gonna beat on it eventually. Thanx for the offer. I'll definetly keep that in mind. Not in a hurry to sell it, cause its all paid off. Still listening to reasonable offers.

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
Price is fine for the mileage, condition, and mods if the 60k's been done. If not I personally would try to get $16,5 out of you... just saying.

Looking at the pics, I think this car looks very clean. in person may tell a different story, but I looked at about a dozen cars before buying mine and this one looks better in pics than anything I saw. What do the seats look like? IMHO this a tell tale of a clean car, especially on the non leather, non MR/SE seats
The 60k service to some might be a hit to your asking price, but for me, it wouldn't be more than a $500 bargaining chip. I think the fact that this car is as clean at is would make up for it. Just look at the wheels.... not curbed, and don't even look like they have a hint of stain that you see on cars half this old. Do you have the stock hood? seeing a CF hood on a car will alienate some of your better buyers.
To sell this car, take bigger, better pics showing off the car and how good of condition it is in. Try to get a stock hood in the process. Show more pics of the interior.
Craigslist is just a avenue for lowballers to get in contact with you, but you have to remember that it only takes one buyer. Sometimes, that is the first person to contact you, sometimes that is the 100th person to contact you.
And one last bit of advise that I have picked up along the way... I absolutely hate when listers state things like ->
- no lowballers -> then why list it on craigslist because 99% of watchers are lowballers. You know this going in
- I don't have to sell -> then why have it for sale?
even stating "no test drives" or "serious buyers". You can weed out the tire kickers pretty easily with a short conversation, no need to state this in the ad. It will only deter the "serious buyers" from even contacting you. I had no issue getting a test drive in the cars that I went to look at. nobody asked to see the money upfront.... they could tell I was a serious buyer and wasn't interested in a joyride or wasting their time
When listing on craigs, IMO, NOBODY lists their best price in their ad. If you do, you are foolish to think people will take that seriously. Craigs is a lowballers haven and the prices listed are a starting point at best. When selling a car, if someone contacts me via email or phone, I will not discuss price beyond my asking price. If they want to lowball me, over the phone without seeing the car, then they are only trying to see how easy I will drop the price. This goes both ways. I am currently shopping for a car, and I get things like "the price is firm and if that's a problem, then we shouldn't waste each others time".... to that I say, I haven't see the car in person, but your asking price is higher than NADA values the car at (NADA's trade in price + tax is what is what I use for my reference). If they have issue with that, I don't want to deal with the person and I move on.
/rant - Just things to think about

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
I remember a couple years ago when 8s were going for 12-15k, it seems like they keep going up in price and are now getting close to the prices people ask for 9s.

I don't disagree, I'm just one of those that'll get the most outlandish quote on needed work and use that to talk people down... that's just how I buy. Note that I said try, never said I wouldn't pay the asking price, because I definitely would. This car looks to be well worth the asking price.

Re: 03 evo8 for sale
Thanx for the info guys. Here's more pics that I uploaded. The rim, is the passenger side and it has a slight curb damage. The other rims has some slight curb damage but not as bad as this one. The driver seat has some wear due to getting in and out of the car. Very common on these recaro seats. I do have the stock hood and other parts but cannot get any pics due to moving and its buried somewhere. Anyone needs a specific angle, just let me know. I'm also lowering my price down to $16,500, if anyone's interested. Sorry, I don't check my mails often, but I'll try to respond to any questions, offers, interest as soon as I can.

Was wondering if a mod could move my posting into the for sale section. I'll really appreciated. Thanks!
