Sweet. 4th gear has been grinding lately, really taking it easy shifting into 4th. Bad synchro I'm sure. Ron says the trans has to come out to replace it.
I don't have a ton of money right now, but I also don't feel like doing this job more than once. I wish I could have it fixed while in the car to keep the cost to a minimum, but it sounds like that is out of the question.
Maybe if I plan it right, I can do the swap in a weekend, and then have Ron swap in a good 4th gear synchro from my spare trans to the one in it now, and then sell it.
The rest of the trans is mint, maybe I could re-coup most of the cost by doing that? thoughts?
Anyone have a spare 5 speed laying around? I see AWDMotorsports sells the full conversion kit (Base, shifter, linkage, reverse switch, bracketry on trans and trans mount) for $350 now.
Threaded Mode
