Scheides, yup cvt. They program "gears" into the cvt's computer so it mimics gear changes. I can't imagine its faster though, I thought one of the big deals with cvt's was that they stay in the engines peak power rpm's throughout exceleration.

I dont know if its necesarily staying with the peak power rpms, but its a lot smoother where you dont feel the hard shifts of a conventional automatic. With the paddles you just have more control to keep up in the higher rpms.
