OPEC does not control the price of gas, even if it did, only 42.8%(as of late 2003) of our oil comes from OPEC.The government and the transportation companies profit more than OPEC does.OPEC has very little to do with gas prices, other than the fact far too many people incorrectly think OPEC controls prices, therefore prices fluctuate when OPEC makes statements.If you want to point the finger, point it at our government, usually their tax profit on oil is at least(if not more) than OPEC itself profits off oil.And OPEC is the one doing the work, our government just sits back and collects $$$.
