14psi on 2 turbos is the same as 14psi on 1 turbo, the differences are from how well the air flows into and out of the engine, that cfm thing. There's a whole bucket full of reasons to do TT vs single and vise versa. Some of the common reasons are the fact that twin turbo setups on like a V6, you can use 2 small cheap turbos and make good power, have a short route to the turbos, and twins tend to spool up faster than a comparable single. Problems though are twice the pluming, and twice as many moving parts that can fail or leak. And probably the most important reason is the logistics of making it all fit, usually the reason to do one or the other in the first place.
