I can only get 200whp from the first pump due to the amount of fuel that back-flows through the second pump if it isn't running. My car needs more than that before enough boost is there to turn the second pump on. Don't you read my posts on here? haha.

The theory is that the Full Blown hanger produces more backward flow through the progressive pump than you would get from the same setup in a stock hanger (like yours).

Whenever he has the time. Last time we talked he was going to do a quick tune on the DW1000's and have me drive it for a week to see if the fueling situation is solid.

If everything is cool then I'll bring it back for the ID2000 tune. Now that Tephra is out I'd like two tunes with a hotter one in the alt map. I'm sure Shane won't have time for that until after the MAP proving grounds event...he's buried over there.

Probably won't need that parking spot for a month but $80/mo is a good rate in my building so I had to snag it.

I didn't have much luck with the Rays (dur)aluminum lugs--the first keyed one that I tried to torque down bent and lodged itself in the special socket. These are the more expensive Formula lugs...they use a seven-sided hex key on every lug, so in theory they are more secure and hopefully they can at least be torqued without breaking.

I have some more Rexpeed carbon bits on the way (hood and wheel vents).

A guy down here has the whole array of carbon fiber hood/fender vents, along with the front bumper trim cover thing and it all looks really nice.

I think Rexpeed is good bang for the buck. I'm waffling a bit about installing the APR splitter vs just buying the black plastic piece (since I have the aero/SSS front end) that I'd need for installing an aftermarket lip.

I've already bought the splitter so I think I'll give it a go but if it ends up being a pita then I'm going to change it out...perhaps order a Varis lip over the Winter months and have it ready to go for the Spring.

My beater just overheated. I suppose it's most likely the water pump but in the past when that was the issue the belt would break...it didn't in this case. After work I'll check the fluid level then maybe try pulling the thermostat? Of course I don't keep SAE tools in the car.

It just figures...

LOL, Mine is being driven..but the having a new Baby in the fam, has restricted it's driving duties to getting groceries, and baby things. It will be resuming it normal flogging on the 24th when I start going back to work. Ha!

After some reflection, I realize that I started hearing pulley noise under the hood a good week ago. I figured it was A/C (that I know doesn't work) so I ignored it. Same sort of thing happened with my BMW a few years ago...ignored that sound and it got me.

I'm going to try to limp it a mile to a garage in Eagan. More money that I didn't need to be spending. Ugh. I own two cars but I'm calling around for a rental. Somewhat amusing, but only a little bit.

As soon as i get my evo running correctly and "reliably" and recoup the costs of the motor build...I am buying a good DD, something relatively new, 2000 and up at least.

Sure my car was just fully overhauled and is working great...but it is still old, so it is a matter of time before something else goes.

What sucks is that water pumps are like $29 (on Internet parts sites). The problem is that I don't know how to replace one and even if I did I probably couldn't do it in some random parking lot here.

It should cost a lot less to fix an American car anyway. It ended up being $800 on the BMW for a water pump, belt, and fluids.

Just do it yourself and learn how as you go. That's how I learned. Keep it up and pretty soon you'll have a low paying physical labor job like me too!

This would be the perfect car to learn on, too. If I had a garage (or even a driveway), a second car to run for parts in, and a way to trailer it home then I would. The reality is that I'm stranded at home right now and don't have the other two things.

I just got the $800 estimate. Holy shit. Between this bill and the stereo I've doubled the price of the car.

This is the shitty part about owning a cheap car...things are just waiting to break.

i hope i luck out on mine...the body damage from the accident is ghetto fixed and i spent 400 on parts to fix all the maintenance stuff.

Why is it so much to fix? Seems awfully high. Just labor?
