am i being retarded, or can you use that 2.4 block with a 2.0 dohc head and have lots of power?

because aparently the 2.4 block bolts straight to the star/quest tranny.

would someone enlighten me please?

if the 2.4 can bolt to your tranny, then so can the 2.0. there are a few variations of 2.4s, 6-7 bolt, 8-16 valve. but yeah, 2.4 + 16v head = good for most people. cept it'll cost more than you think, especially pistons.

alright, well, my basis for thinking is that some guy who had a D50/mightymax with a 2.4 bolted in a 2.6 and the bellhousing fit.

maybe it's an entirely different engine. i dunno.

Bzzzzt! There are 2 different bellhousing patterns to the 2.4. One will bolt up to a star/quest, the one we use in a DSM will not. I don't know if the 2.0 ever came in the bigger bellhousing pattern.

Mitsu only made the 2 different size blocks for the bellhousing the larger is 13.25 between the guides and that is the one you would want as JET mentioned. I don't know either if they ever came in the 2.0 config. Finding a 4g64 for rebuilding with that housing is not an easy search either.
