Re: Project Owdee

I've always thought it would be fun to sell a highly modded car to someone expecting something stock, but I wouldn't trust them not to destroy it.

Re: Project Owdee

Took my car to Carousel last night to check on a slight leak from the tranny. Noticed it while I was installing 6k HID bulbz last weekend.

Anyway... Its leaking somewhere from the case, I thought it was just the drain plug but its not. Out comes the tranny for a NEW one. haha Warranty FTW.

Oh and to replace the HID bulbs, you have to remove the bumper, pretty cool 2 hour project...

The difference:

Gah a new trans!?!? Wow, that sucks, thank goodness for audi's stellar warranty! Will be curious to know what the fix/actual problem is. Gonna put in a new clutch while they're in there?

Re: Project Owdee

Ill be asking them tonight, they say it was leaking out of the tranny casing. Ive noticed it get crunchy in the last week, so I assume they just want to replace the whole thing versus rebuild.

Im also gonna check with them to see if I should install a new clutch at this time, just as piece of mind.

Re: Project Owdee

Can't complain about a free transmission! I think you should buy at least a new clutch disc while they're in there; I'm sure they can resurface your current flywheel and pressure plate.

Oh snap, they probably can't just resurface, you'd get to buy a whole new flywheel too IIRC! Dual-mass flywheel ftw? :P

Re: Project Owdee

Evos need the bumper removed to change the bulbs, but it's more like a half hour project. What were the stock bulbs?

You own a very clean, nice car. It's awesome you're keeping it that way.
