Please explain. If you put it in gear it still rolls?

How far do you have to pull your e-brake up when you engage it? if it goes all the way back and it's really loose you probably need to adjust it. Easy fix. I adjusted mine and now it holds like a champ.

No you guys dont understand... I have NO FREAKIN E BRAKE. No cables, no arm, no ebrake period. LOL
It only really rolls when its in 2-5th. Same thing that happened with jasons car when he fell on his face chasing after it.

and mark, i will take that full power steering setup from you. (Dont need the actual rack though.)

Power steering's for poofs. You drove my car, it's not that bad. Plus you gain +40awhp when you're in VTEC.

Re: 1992 Eagle Talon TSI Project

well... took my first highway pull...
It started to overheat. So i limped it home and stopped once to let it cool down on the way home.
so im thinking its:
A) the headgasket (i hope not and please no i told you sos)
B) Not enough coolent in the system
c) Thermostat stuck closed

It heats up incredibly fast from full cold to right in the middle in around a minute.

And i think the idle surging has to do with the coolent lines not being hooked up to the FIAV. So i will probably just block the FIAV off and call it good.

I would get a new thermostat and burp the system real good. Then go try it again.

I, Tom Ferlaak, Would like to apologize to the members i doubted that you should not reuse a head gasket. I realize that even though in the past this has worked. this is just not the case in this situation. From this day forward, when the head comes off, the head gasket will be thrown away.
Thank you for your time,
Tom

It hasnt rusted. but it turned a cool copper color. i dont know if it was from the FP bolts that like somehow did an anodised thing to it, because the bolts turned gold and the mani turned copper. lol

Re: 1992 Eagle Talon TSI Project

Ok so two things that may be causing the car to seem to run hot.
a) The Coolant dump line from the turbo is coming in to the Thermo Housing right above the sensor.
b) I think the overflow tank is mounted upside down. (there are no markings on this summit catch can as to which end should be up and the overflow tank is empty but spits out coolant every time i stop.)

What do you guys think? it wasnt overheating. it was just running a bit hot at the slower speeds this time and would cool down when i cruise at higher speeds. right now i dont have a thermostat in.
