Project S14 240sx

I had one just like this one a few years ago, before I got my DSM and loved it, but it died a very unfortunate death. Black ice is a real killer.

So tonight I just picked up another '95 240sx. It needs a little work, but it's nothing I can't handle. It's got 114k miles on the clock, but the speedometer isn't connected, so I'm unsure of actual mileage but other than very minor hail damage the body is about 90% perfect.

The problems to be fixed:
Speedometer doesn't work
Missing trunk panels and a couple center console trim pieces
CEL is on, He told me that the MAF probably needs to be cleaned
questionable wiring under the hood
Power steering reservoir leaks
Grille is missing
Exhaust leak at downpipe/midpipe junction
The back of the hood is propped up like all the drifters do
The trunk doesn't quite line up
Front bumper is zip tied on
Suede headliner needs repair
Windshield wiper motor and wiper arms were removed for some odd reason

Mods the car already has:
Megan racing header
unknown midpipe that has a resonator
HKS Hi-Power 4" catback
Stance coilovers
Unknown brand short ram intake
Welded diff
Upgraded tie rod ends
Some kind of Lexus wheels

I'll post up pics tomorrow, it was too dark to take any by the time I got it home.

Here's the CL ad http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...564366551.html

Re: Project S14 240sx

very nice! we also got a S14 project but it's been sitting and waiting for an SR20det for 5 years . What are your plans for it? I still got a dream list for it also. These cars are definitely pretty easy to work on.

RB25det + 350Z rear + 350z front/rear brake assembly + TEIN coilovers ....oh...there is so much more on that list I don't even want to think about it!

Swapping 240s is dumb if you're just going to use another 4cyl. turbo KAs work GREAT.

Re: Project S14 240sx

Yeah, the kid drifted with it. He said he went to 5 or 6 events last summer, I don't plan on drifting it. I'll kick the back end around every now and then for fun, but I probably won't go to a drift day with it.

My plans for the car are to just get everything fixed with it and drive it for now, but eventually I'll be getting a t3 housing for the GT30R I already have and putting that on the KA, with supporting mods of course. If the KA ever blows, then who knows what I'll do with it. Hell, even a wideblock 2.4 is an option

The car doesn't do too bad with the welded diff, but tight corners definitely suck. That will be getting swapped out for an LSD sometime soon.

Upgraded brakes are definitely on the list too. Those stock brakes are fucking TINY! I'm not sure what I'll go with, probably Z32 aluminum caliper setup, or maybe R33 Skyline brakes if I can find a set for a decent price.

No, the tip is 5". Basically everything after the header is 4". Don't ask me why it's so damn big...
