You should be able to tell if the bov spring is bad during the boost leak test. If its bad it should push open once you put boost to it.

It shouldn't be a wastegate spring if you said you guys were able to keep turning the boost up. Wastegate spring would really deal with boost and not power so much.

I would have to guess there would be a huge boost leak if the compression and leak down test checked out normal. Try and do the boost leak test to as much boost you want to run on the street/dyno. Sometimes boost leaks don't pop up until 20psi+.

Good luck and post up what happens with the boost leak test.
