Re: Hello from South Dakota.
Welcome to the board. Amsoil is one word. What are they sponsoring you for and how exactly are they sponsoring you?

Re: Hello from South Dakota.
Well, Amsoil is sponsering me by giving me dirt cheap stuff. They are giving me octane boost for free right now, But last weekend they ordered, a cold air intake system + cone and racing oil, all for free! All i had to do was slap a sticker on my car. But since i know the owner of Amsoil here in South Dakota, it was very easy for me to persuade him into sponsoring me. Since i am not rich, still in highschool, and dont really have a nice facility to work on my car, he is also letting me use his garage whenever i want.

Re: Hello from South Dakota.
Oh, i forgot to mention they are sponsoring me because they feel, as i get older, and put more money into my car, it will get faster and if i get faster and win more races at meets (that is if these other high schoolers dont bring their father's cars) i will put a good look to their companies name, thus bringing them more business. But my good side to it is, im getting performance stuff.

Re: Hello from South Dakota.
I certainly hope we're talking meets at race tracks with safety reqs and regulations and not on the road in front of the Walmart or whatever you meet at. I doubt Amsoil would be pleased to know that they're paying to make someone's illegal activities more dangerous.
Testing and comparing on the highway, yeah, that's all fine and good. All out racing? Not so much.
Just a thought.

Re: Hello from South Dakota.
haha yes, by meets i mean Marion Dragstip here is SD, and car shows. I never street race. I might mess around with someone every now and then but never have i raced at a stoplight for money. Its just dumb.

Re: Hello from South Dakota.
K. The wording made it sound otherwise, at least to me. Meets and racing generally have that illegal implication when used in the same sentence in my books, unless otherwise elaborated upon.
It's cool that you're sponsored, though. Should see if they'll help you pay for parts when it breaks, lol.

Re: Hello from South Dakota.
Haha, lets hope it doesnt break.. Its also my everyday driver. But, I usually think of meets as a scheduled night, as in a car show or a "special night" at a dragstrip. I hope to attend all the High School import nights at Marion. Most people think theyre gay, because all these high schoolers do is bring theyre daddies car. It gets dumb, maybe they will change it so the car title has to be in the kids name. That would probably help a little bit, atleast until their dads start putting their son as a co-owner...
