Doesn't really matter where you put it I guess, I have a T off my filter housing for my pressure gauge and feed line, I have a npt to -4an adapter and hook the filter right on there. Then the line goes into the banjo bolt on the turbo.

If you have a fitting that goes straight down into the turbo you couldn't fit the filter pointing straight up, but I found that the banjo bolt 90* outlet was too close to the turbo and I couldn't even screw the inline filter on, so I had no choice but to place it down at the filter housing.
