I have a '01 M Roadster (315 hp from the M3 in a Z3 chassis) and it is a lot of fun, but nothing like the Talon. The car is super smooth and has long gears, but you don't get the rush of the talon. I have been through what you are going through many times and I just can't see getting rid of AWD. I have ridden in high HP RWD cars and they just go up in smoke, or they put a 4 link in the back and they handle like shit. Keep the talon and put a 50 trim in it, if you need a rebuild in the future go to a 2.4 so you can spool a bigger turbo quicker. An EVO is the only replacement I can see for my talon. I have been looking at building a '67 Chevelle with a tube chassis and 4wd system out of a chevy truck with a TT LS2 up front
That would be WAY down the road though, unless I hit the lottery!
