As a reminder to people, 50% is the legal limit for ALL car windows in MN, but cops generally just care about the front windows. Although 35% is illegal, you're generally fairly safe and won't get hassled about it, anything below 20% and expect to get hassled frequently. Trucks, vans, and SUV's is 50% in the front and for the rears no laws apply.

I could sware that it was only a law for the windows drom the driver seat forward. I mean alot of vehicles come with the glass dark from the factory. I could be wrong but that is what I was told when I have been pulled over multiple times for window tint.

Nope. MN law for cars applies to ALL windows. The only cars that come with the rear windows tinted from the factory are cars designated as limos or towncars. Vans/trucks/SUVs have no limits for the rear windows. Also, under MN state law, you may not have the windshield tinted at all except for a sun strip that goes no lower than the stock strip.

You are correct I didn't see the part about cars specifically that you were talking about. I found a link with the law.
