JMFAB video

Someone posted this up on the link forums. Kind of a cool video! One thing I did notice, is from watching this video it doesn't seem like he uses tapered runners, which I found interesting. Anywho, enjoy!

Re: JMFAB video

Actually, I've never looked up close at a dsm head, and I really did wonder where they went, but I will use my brain and conclude that they sit in the head. at least that makes fabrication easier.

Cool idea on the video, I like my intake manifold design better though. I do not like the round runner smashed down at the end, easy to produce I guess.

The Intake ports on the head are oval shape. I would think this would be the best way to accomplish making a circle into an oval, am i wrong? If your thinking you should do the conversion from circle to oval in the flange itself wouldnt that create turbulance because its not a gradual change?

Re: JMFAB video

No what I am saying is that the runner should be the same shape as the head port, rectangle. And have a taper and rounded edges blended into a velocity stack that blends into the edges of rounded none taper plenum with no protrusions thats also inside outside welded and hand ported. The problem with my design is cost, to produce my manifold would be $750 or more, but I would like to put it up against the others in a dyno test at some point.

Havent blown out a weld yet. They fixed the problems with the plenum welds breaking by adding support towards the middle of the plenum.
