ipod Touch - Can anyone give me a reason not to buy this?

My friend has one, and I don't know if it is because it was hacked, or this is just how they are, but the Ipone doesn't seem all that great to me. First off, it's way to fragile, especially with that big screen. Second, the internet was pretty damn slow I thought, and the mp3 player was very laggy. My friend actually gave up on using the mp3 part of the phone and went back to using his Ipod because it worked better. But I guess if you want to look cool because you spent a lot of money on a phone, be my guest.

By now I think you have completely contradicted this statement.

Shit breaks if you aren't careful with it... a normal iPod can break from a 3 foot fall if it lands in an awkward position, and is probably MORE likely to break being it has a HDD vs SS.

Bottom line is just be careful with your shit.

Ok first off I did not know the touch was Flash memory. I stand corrected on that.

But funny how you say about the old Ipods. I right now have a 40gb 4g Click wheel paper weight. Because of this HDD problem. 100 dollars will fix it. But I do not have the cash for it. Oh and the damn thing is scratched up too. But after I fix it...I wont drop it again ... I am buying a hard case for it.

I bought the 16g touch tonight and it didnt work out of the box.

Took it back and exchanged it and all is good now. Pretty nifty little thing. My first ipod and really first mp3 player for that matter.

I would say that the internet is almost as fast as my laptop and it is really easy to use.

Now to upload a shit load of CDs so I can use the thing.

If youre worried about durability Ive got an iphone and I do NOT baby it, I use it just like I would any of my other phones and I'd rather get the most use out of it and just buy a new one if I break it instead spending more time babying it than using it. So far Ive dropped it from about 3-4 ft quite regularly since I knock it off the counters at my work all the time, and today I dropped it pretty far down a deep vent but I managed to fish it out and it was unscathed except maybe for a scuff or two
