Re: The last track day, who is going?

It pretty much sucked again this year...4 runs between 11am and 7:30 pm, and it was cold. CFR officials didn't really have much organization. The bikes sure got plenty of runs though it seemed. I'd say stay away from this event in the future. I'm not sure what happened, but the MAP talon had to push thier car back to the pits. I think it ran a 10.1 @ 145ish mph on the one run I saw

Re: The last track day, who is going?

The 2+ hour wait in line between runs sucked, but I had fun going down the track..never done it before. Gotta learn to launch without spinning so much. ended up with two 12.7s at 113 and 115mph with 2.2 60's

Re: The last track day, who is going?

We got two whole runs in and had to beg for the last one as we had to leave early. First run was a 10.1 @ 145mph with a 1.69 60'. Second run was an anti-lag launch at 7k, made it through first pulling hard and broke the rear end as soon as she hit second and the nitrous came on. Upgrade axles, break rear end. Upgrade rear end, break transfer case. Upgrade transfer case, break transmission, Upgrade transmission... Well you get the idea!

Re: The last track day, who is going?

4-bolt rear end too? Is the clutch too harsh?

Re: The last track day, who is going?

yes 4 bolt, and it's a QM twin disc so yes pretty harsh. We're going to look at the video again as we're not sure why it would take the launch and then break in second, but it could all come back to the drag radials and poor suspension once again.

Re: The last track day, who is going?

I would guess it pretty much let go with a 7K stutterbox launch and just held on til you hit second. I don't think even Shep was launching nearly that hard. Plus those street drags are much harsher on the drivetrain than some softer wrinkle walls.

How much are you slipping the clutch on launch? The QM seems to like being slipped a bit if you have the bigger slave and can do so. The smaller slave makes it act like a switch.

Preloading is very important when trying to save your drivetrain.

He *always* preload's his drivetrain before launching.

Sucks to hear the damn thing broke again. I was hoping it would do at least a mid 9 @ 152ish.
