Re: Real world evoX pics
Correct me if I am wrong: This is the worst looking evo ever, it has the least flexible motor, and is going to be (optional)automatic.
I don't know, but from day 1, the evo 10 seemed to be a failure.
The Evolution III seems to be the best of the breed in my mind....

The optional transmission is hardly an automatic, its similar, but better, than VW's DSG. Who knows about the engine, to go in an EVO it will have to be strong considering it will more than likely be running 20+ pounds of boost from the factory.

I agree with Chris. Here is a quote from Wikipeda:

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will feature a completely redesigned chassis and computer system. It will have a brand-new engine, the 4B11T; a 2.0L turbocharged aluminum I-4, and a new all-wheel-drive system that will control braking, throttle input, and real-time suspension adjustment (all together called S-AWC, or Super All Wheel control) simultaneously with the Active Center Differential. The S-AWC uses torque vectoring to send different amount of torque to any wheel at any given time. It will also feature a sequential semi-automatic six speed double-clutch transmission with steering-mounted magnesium alloy shift paddles. A 5-speed manual gearbox will also be available.

That right there says the car wont suck. Granted new engine basicly a new Evo. I am happy with this car. I am also happy with Mitsu taking the risk in redesigning a legend. I hope this car lives up to its name. The changes they did from the prototype to this. Is small I did not care for the bigger nose. I like the more streamline look. And it kinda looks like a small Galant still. Well the 8th Gen Galant that is.... Be happy its still Turbocharged!

If what I've heard of the DSG is true, I can only imagine that driving an Evo with a "race" bred version would be anything short of a blast. It's not like Mitsubishi builds junk engines. The X is a technological monster, but they've had plenty of time to make the X fit the Evo mold.
