What keeps us coming back to 'style?
I was sitting here thinking to myself why i cant get really into any other forums besides this one. Its like a abusive girlfriend/boyfriend that you keep going to after she kicks you in the nuts and slaps you repeatedly.
I occasionally post on Team-2g.com but every time i look at that forum it just screams at me NOOB ASS RICER BOYS. and its not that they are, but i cant help but think this way because style has given me so much knoledge over the years that it kinda made me a dick when it comes to rice. I remember when i first got on this site, i had my Auto GSX with a body kit, thinkin i was pretty cool, then i realised that i didnt know shit. Ive been made fun of many times on this site but i always learned something from it.
Its kinda funny because when you go to these other sites like Team-2g and MNSC and TUNERZ, they are more accepting of body kits and other riced out things like 420a modding. But someone comes on here with a question about their body kit and such and there will always be someone that cuts that person down. Now, at the time of someone makeing fun of that person the mods may get a little pissed at them and some people may stick up for the kid with the Uncle bens syndrome but overall if the kid listens to what the flamer has said, it could give us one less ricer.
I know over the years I have had my rice moments, but when someone has told me "hey, thats pretty ricey" it had actually steered me in the right direction as far as where i want to go.
Ok back to the subject at hand.
Keep up the good work 'Style, I dont think you could get a better website that is truely geared towards the actual dsm lifestyle.
To the noobs to the 'Style Family:
If you get flamed its really for your own good, if you stick with this site you will gain more knowledge then you could possibly want. Hell where else would you see members get in a fight about Oil or Headgaskets... LOL.
Cheers everyone; to many more years of the style family!
p.s, Nothing really sparked this, i think its just because the forums are kinda dead and im bored at work.

So if I want to win ... I am a loser. Thanks tom for clearing that up. Hey I was going to say what happen to you. Did that memory of you using the Ebrake to do a burnout on a AWD pop in your head?

All you guys seem awesome and I have a good time at the meets. Plus I have been friends with a few of the members here since HS. I also like the rules that keeps all the fucking n00bs out, so there's none of that shit.

Re: What keeps us coming back to 'style?
Primarily the fact that it is a local forum. Now that I'm finally graduating I hope to be able to get my car put together and bring it up to some events in the Cities.
I used to stay active on Toonerz but that site is an absolute lost cause. I stay active on NABR but beyond technical discussion and the trader, I don't like their social discussion as it seems to always wind up with politics.

Dude, that's the second best part outside of reading tech shit. Some of those conversations are just awesome.

Lol. Sounds like an AA meeting. The Tech Section has some good info that I have bookmarked for future reference. But I mostly come back everyday because the arcade is hella addictive.

Re: What keeps us coming back to 'style?
I think a big part of it is the spelling and grammar rules. Hell, even AJ can spell decent now! I don't get a headache reading it and there isn't much ricer crap in here. Being local helps and being able to hang out with the guys you are talking to. Basically we are a big, disfunctional, alcoholic (but happy)family!

Re: What keeps us coming back to 'style?
I also like he fact that there isn't too much rice around here. The fact that most of us can spell and form a complete sentance is also a good thing. When I first joined here, I didn't realize it at the time, but I was heading down the path to ricerdom. Luckily, this place steered me back into the right direction. Thanks 'Style!

I'm just curious, How many of you calling yourselves alcoholics are from wisconsin. Watch the first video there knowing your from minnesota and then call yourselves alcoholics... Every single line in the video makes me laugh sadly enough.
