Brian did admit that he got a bad batch of cores that weren't treated, I believe some of the other manufacturers were having the same problem at the time. HKS seems to be the only one that always been almost perfect. Hence the reason they hold their value so well. 272's always perform.
I'm going to be selling mine over the winter though, I've heard real good things about some newer grinds that work well on my setup.
