Re: Not trying to be a pain in da ass, but..
It's not that bad, but honestly I havn't looked at it even once yet. I'm so used to the classifieds being an actual forum. It might be a little better if when something new is posted up, it comes up when you hit the new posts button? As big brother stated, just a suggestion...

Re: Not trying to be a pain in da ass, but..
I also have not even looked at the classifieds since the new way was implemented. I bet most the people don't even see what's for sale now. I liked when it popped up like a normal thread, so I could just see if anything caught my eye, even when I wasn't looking to buy anything. Now I don't even think about clicking the classifieds.

Re: Not trying to be a pain in da ass, but..
Again, the one's we are setting up will allow for "new thread" integration and a "new ad" block running on various parts of the forums/gallery/aracde.
The new Classifieds even has it's own name and web address already.
There will be no restrictions on who can use it (Vendors excluded and will need approval). This means no post count requirements.
Just need to be a member of MitsuStyle.com

Why are you changing the requirements? At least before you could buy something and semi-trust the seller. Look at all the dumbasses who came on the board with only the intention to unload some junk and never return. I don't see the point in opening yourself up to that. I know you want the site to grow, but at the same time you need to stay loyal to your original local base. I would imagine if this starts turning into something similar to DSMTuners a lot of the senior/original members will leave. The only reason a lot of people are here is b/c its mostly local guys who know each other and have become friends over the years and really not for the "DSM" aspect. but more for the "car community" aspect. "Stay loyal to your base or the whole thing will topple."

I'm changing the requirement simply because it will be up to the buyers to start leaving some feedback. You don't have to buy from someone who doesn't have any past experiances to go on, but this will give more options for parts and access to those who just don't use the web all that much to BS.
This will never turn into DSMTuners, it simply will never be that big, mainly because of the local/midwest member base. Is that saying we won't have problems? No, of course not.
Staying loyal to our base? Do you want the responsibilty of running this site? It's not just a personal site with 20 members who BS back and forth and get most of their car info on sites like DSMTalk and DSMTuners and NABR. It's because of all the support from our vendors and senior members that out customer base has expanded on it's own. And We have to adapt with that. If that means I lose activity from members because they don't have an intrest in the Mitsu area anymore, then so be it. I am not catering to the "downtown crew" or the "appelbees gang" or the "original ten" anymore.
Sorry Chris, but this is still a DSM/Mitsu based site and we will adjust and grow with the times. This is done to provide a large and more active base of auto enthusiasts to our vendors as well as give every one of those enthusiasts a place to mix all things that are part of off topic bullshit and technical advice.

No I do not want to run this site, I feel you, Chris, and everyone else is doing a great job. I realize this is a DSM site, shit, thats half the reason I bought another DSM. I am sure the site will remain much the same as it is and everyone will continue to post here and have a good time, but it does concern me (and others) that there is a chance the site will become less personal. Oh well, I anticipate the changes and look forward to seeing what it brings. When the official switch anyways?

Re: Not trying to be a pain in da ass, but.. (Another Classifieds Topic)
Hopefully soon. I'm trying to get the new classifieds to work under both mitsu-trader.com and mitsustyle.com. Currently, they work perfectly under mitstustyle.com, and we may launch that way.
I hope no one is too pissed off about switching classifieds *again*. We are trying to really improve the features of this site, and this new classifieds system is absolutely fabulous. The real problem is that the sr_classifieds module looked so cool when we were first playing with it, and now it is just painfully obvious that it is a big-ol pile.

I think everyone is looking forward to switching from the SR Classifieds! The new system looks great.

OK cool, so when I hit New Threads, the adds will show up? I like that. Except if all a sudden you get a huge influx of people who come here only to sell crap, and turn your classifieds into a new DSMTrader, well then that'll get really annoying.

Re: Not trying to be a pain in da ass, but.. (Another Classifieds Topic)
The good thing is that they will still have to register for the site, and right now, it's all an approval process again. I will probably set something up to where all new members are required to post in the new member section or something similar. It won't be 50 post count thing, but it won't be free for all either.

WAIT! I have a good idea.
You know how on the page it takes you to [when you click on FS: Vehicles] with the list of cars for sale it has basic details about the vehicle, such as VIN, miles, etc? Well considering this is a DSM based site, I think you guys should add one more question to that part: Running or Not running.

It's not a DSM base site anymore. Mitsu base anything. It was time for a change I guess. I do agree though. lol
