Just to update I did switch to Rotella-T. I do notice the difference! It is probably because it is a thicker oil then the M-1 stuff. With the M-1, I think the turbo just gets that stuff too hot and it becomes thin. I still get lifter tick but not as nearly as bad with the M-1. I still have to rebuild the head.
On a side note. I also used a can of sea foam for the first time through the throttle body. Wow smoke screen! It helped as well however now I know where my exaust leaks are.
