Leather Care

To my surprise, I do not believe this topic has ever come up (at least from what I can find by searching). I want to try to keep the black leather in my '01 GTP in as best of condition as possible. However, I have never owned a vehicle with a leather interior before so I have no idea how to properly care for it. I'll be spending some time browsing on Google but figured you all would have some suggestions.

Thanks

Re: Leather Care

I use "leather care" about once every two weeks when I clean out my car. It works great for me!

Re: Leather Care

If you find any super-duper solutions, post them up Jakey. I have leather in the Lincoln and the BMW that I want to keep in good shape.

Re: Leather Care

I have done tons of research on the care of leather seats and actually have ended up just using the Meguiar's leather wipes. They seem to work really well at both cleaning and conditioning the seats. I redo mine once every 2-3 months.

Re: Leather Care

Zymol is a company that makes cleaning products for cars. Back in highschool I knew one of the local detailers and Zymol leather cleaner and lotion is the only product he would use on both his own and customers cars. You can even buy it in the automotive department at target I think.

Here is their site.

Here is the conditioner I mentioned above.

It explains the process too.

I ended up buying a tube of these at Wal-Mart. They seem to work okay but I wasn't real impressed with how well they cleaned.
