Suspension-springs?

Its time for some suspension work, I need to replace my struts and springs up front and the shocks and springs in the back. I was thinking about the KYB GR2 front and rear. But I can’t decide on springs, I like the Eibach Sportline Lowering springs and the Pro springs. What would you get?

in my honest opinion, gr2's with the prokits would work, but any lower spring I would just opt for a better strut. gr2's are basically OEM replacement. try to get some agx, or koni yellows. sportline springs are a good look and ride pretty nicely. For a more aggressive look, you can go for the sportline springs..they are lower, but ride stiffer.

after riding around in my car for a while, struts/shocks will have the most affect on your car, and it's handling. have fun getting the lower bolts out on the rear shocks..

I’m not looking for an OPUS domination setup, just a little tighter than what I have now. You know with over 200 thousand miles on the springs a new stock OEM set up would be better than what I have now.

Well, I haven't ridden in a car with GR2's but Justin just got some AGX's and you can get loose REALLY easily in them. I'd definitely recommend those.

For a daily-driver setup that you want to keep comfortable the GR2's (10% stiffer than OEM) with Pro-Kit springs will be a nice setup. I'd stay away from the Sportline springs if I were you, they are mainly designed for looks unlike the Pro-Kit springs which are designed for handling and ride quality. AGX shocks are nice, but might be overkill based on what you're looking for; the price different could go towards something more benefitial to you. You should also look into a Suspension Techniques rear anti-sway bar, I got mine brand new for $145 and it made a bigger difference in handling than my AGX/Groundcontrol setup did while barely effecting ride quality. Top it all of with a front upper strut-bar...these do help the FWD cars.

I had the sportlines but it looked like shit, so I upgraded to the pro kits. Much better in looks and feel, not harsh on the street at all. If you want the stock look, go for the sportlines. If you want to look good, go pro.

I was working on a price, The KYB GR-2 strut and shocks along with replacing new bellows and strut /shock mounts F&R comes to like $460.00. The cheapest I could find eibach Pro-springs is $199.00 so after $659.00 I will be sitting good.

Remember when you drove my Blue FWD Laser at KK? I had just put in BG springs 1.7" drop and GR2s all the way around. It looked great and was not a harsh ride at all. A perfect combination for a car that is driven quite a bit.

For $659 I would just save up a little more and get a nice coilover setup. You are almost there.

Well it was fairly simple.

KYB GR-2s Front and Back
B+G Springs Front and Back

Mine was FWD as well so a camber kit was not needed and the drop was about 1.75". In my opinion the car had the perfect 'rake' effect with this setup and it helped out with traction ALOT since the ass end didn't dip down so much under boost. The nose stayed as glued to the ground as it could (still spun like a mofo though).

I can't remember how much the shocks were but the springs were 200 bucks even shipped. I cannot remember where I got them from though.

I've got agx's all around and sprint lowering springs and its a pretty decent ride, id recomend them to other people, but how low you want to go has a big affect on the ride none the less. camber kit is a must!

Not for 1G FWD, I had a 3" drop and my alignment was all within spec, I had the Firestone Lifetime plan and would visit their twice a year.

AWDs tend to need the camber adjustment kit but like I said above my FWD didn't need to be adjusted at all being lowered 2".

i just got new tokio allumina 5 way adjustable, eibach ground control coilovers, and camber kits almost brand new for 650shipped. i love em and id recomend the ground control coilovers. ill keep an eye out for ya!

You must mean "soft", that would not have fixed my problem. My spring rates were way too high, on the softest setting on my AGX's the ride became very bouncy. I bought my GroundControls 3rd-hand so who knows if they were the standard 1G spring-rates or if the original buyer opted for much stiffer springs. I was going to order softer springs, but then I decided to part out my car and get out of the DSM game
