My new turbo project...
well, since i sold my eclipse, i miss boost every day, so i started doing this (no making fun, i know its a honda, but its reliable):
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/526251/ (page 3 is the honda).
I will be running 8psi on a t25, 2.2L SOHC non vtec, 1g sidemount, 1g injectors, chipped ecu (uberdata). I just tore it apart the other day, and im almost done. just need the ecu, a downpipe,ll the oil pan drilled for the return line, and some other small misc things.
I am going for inexpensive here, but im not skipping out on anything.
I know that the location of the sidemount isnt the greatest, but thats all i could do for now. I am kind of thinking up a way to put an evolution style vent in the hood above the sidemount, and then having a elec fan under the smic, so it pulls in exterior cool air. Has to be weather proof somehow (this might make it hard). If anyone has any ideas, post away!

Re: My new turbo project...
The Honda, will be like driving a stock fwd turbo laser. But you will get more respect from some people, you know some people think its better to take a non-turbo car and make it turbo.

Details? Where did you score the EX? How much? How many miles? Etc.
Also, what engine is the 2.2? Where did you get it from? And why did you decide to run that engine versus the 1.6 vtec that it comes with?
I am curious as I am looking for a similar car.

Re: My new turbo project...
As for the IC, I know that 2003Eclipse and his friends had a similar location for the same sidemount on a CRX. What they decided to do until he got a front mount was to cut small fins in the hood. The fins helped to redirect the air onto the SMIC. Just a thought.

Re: My new turbo project...
You did EXACTLY what I had planned for that car..except for the fmic, and 14b. Good job..I am glad it went to someone to take it to that level..
The car was bought originally for 2800 by me, from a college student at u of m. Well, I put more money into it, with the rims, hids, lowered it, projector headlights, carbon fiber tails and a new trunk( they don't make taillights for the coupes) and a bunch of other shit. We pretty much traded cars, and when i handed it over, it had 114k on the car, and about 65k on the motor( the motor was swapped outta a 93 ex coupe-f22a6, and the guy says he built it, but i don't believe it, as i have not seen any recipts or other shit) For all i know, you got a pot of gold john, but i didn't wanna run with that notion, so i did the respectable thing, and sold it as if it was a stock motor. I hope that we can meet up sometime soon, and work out that pipe, and think of some air intake ideas for that smic..glad to see it going so well..

Re: My new turbo project...
Yes, they all did come with a 2.2. The lx and dx came with the a1/a4 f-series motor, while the ex, and the se came with the f22a6. This motor had a little different caming, different head, and yields about 10 extra hp..

Re: My new turbo project...
That song is too true to life. "Blowing smoke and beating minivans" describes most of those homemade turbo D-series setups. 160whp beotch.
