Re: Cold weather issues?

evo 8 rims are not to bad priced but I would still have to get tires. I cant fit anything bigger than a 215 on the car.

I would never pay what people want for oem bbs's that is just stupied imop

the car still goes straight by it self and it look all ok so far

Re: Cold weather issues?

The only cold weather issue I've had personally, is nearly getting frostbite from -9 degree sledding, with only boxers, a hat, and boots on...haha totally worth $50 my friends bet me and the cuddling with the ladies for warmth afterwards. Overall, probably wasnt the greatest idea...haha.

Re: Cold weather issues?

I drove up north this weekend with my evo fully loaded with dudes and beer and all our shit. Saturday weather was shytastic, snowed all day and night, sunday was clear and roads were icy and snowy until we got most of the way back. The car performed spectacularly! The new snow tires *really* proved themselves this weekend, and this is the first road trip I've been on since doing my headgasket about a month (2000 miles) ago.

I had to keep de-icing the car as we went along, there was SO MUCH crap on the car it was crazy! I had a solid 1.5" of ice on my entire FMIC, all wheel wells were filled and iced, and about 4-5" thick of ice/snow on the entire back of the car.

Also got to test out E85 on the road, and it was fine. Hit 2 different stations, price at one place was way high, but it performed fine. Got about 18mpg average the whole trip.

Re: Cold weather issues?

My car has been doing good other than the brakes which should hopefully be taken care of today. Did a Fuel Lab FPR install yesterday and swapped my cruise control shit out and put in a just a cable and car is a lot more responsive and likes to idle better. Now just needs a good tune

I have had a set of 13" Altimax Artics on the Summit since last winter. They do rock! I drove on them all last year, this summer, and so far this winter and they are all still at 9-10/32nds.

Snow tires make a huge difference on any car. My summit has already done some hill climbing this winter through snow drifts higher than the hood

Re: Cold weather issues?

My cold weather issues consist of a cat crawling through a window in my talon and sleeping on my passenger seat. Paw prints, dirt, and leaves everywhere. I had the window rolled down when I pulled the engine and haven't had a chance to get the ECu back in to roll it up or anything. The garbage bag is now keeping the cat out though. There was thankfully no pee or poop.

After seeing those altimax' on scheides evo, I think I'll be purchasing a set for next winter. They look fuggin' mean! Function and fashion!

Re: Cold weather issues?

The only issue I've had has been the shitty plowing job they've done this year.

Getting onto 494 last night, my back end was still trying to kick out under throttle at the bottom of the ramp at 70mph.

^^ Well if you're already going 70, why are you on the gas when the roads are shitty?

Re: Cold weather issues?

Did I ever say I went 80 that specific time? I slowed down at that point. I was expecting the highway to be better. Considering the fact that the side roads were shit, I figured the plows had been working on the highway... but it's apparent now that the city just hasn't been sending them out at all.

Mark definitely overdrove the conditions on inappropriate tires, damaged his wheels, and got sympathy. I hypothetically overdrove the conditions, kept my car under control, and took shit for it. Go fucking figure.
